Enjin
Enjin are a race of humanoid gorillas from the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition setting of Mists of Akuma.
Originally a fractious and tribalistic race that was content to waste its potential in endless interncine strife to determine leadership and territory within its jungle home, that changed when the empire of Ceramia landed on the shores of Soburin and conquered the land. They saw in the enjin a race of living weapons; slave-soldiers that could be hurled into battle to prevent casualties amongst their own race, and they began a program of kidnapping enjin children to rear for this purpose. Now that the Ceramians are gone, the enjin still remain, scarred and hardened by what they have undergone, and forced to realize that they cannot simply lounge around in their jungles punching each other in the face.
An enjin stands between seven and ten feet tall, with deep black fur that pales to bright silver with age. Aside from alphas, who seek to more readily convey their status to outsiders with the use of jewelry and trinkets, most enjin avoid wearing clothing, and even armor is typically a lightweight, piecemeal affair to avoid hindering its bearer's range of movement.
