==History==

===Youth===

The lost infant's pod crashed into the heart of Taletar, one of the greatest countries of the war torn planet of Haravi, an advanced world dominated by sprawling cities and industrial agriculture. The center of Taletar was the breadbasket of the world, wheat and corn being grown in staggering amounts. The infant crashed in a family owned section of crop, his impact set the entire field ablaze, and from the ashes of the fields the humble farming couple found a son bathed in what they called a divine glow. His adoptive parents, Alistar and Maria Kincaid, named him Caligor, a name fit for a King they said. First thought of as a curse due to the ill fortune that seemed to follow the young boy, the child soon proved himself as a blessing, growing faster than any of their other children (who resented the boy for the razing of their crop with his arrival and his miraculous nature), and the mishaps and catastrophes that followed him faded with age. Caligor at the age of five was helping to till and sow the fields, and at the age of twelve was able to reap the entire crop in a few nights by hand, saving the declining clan who had been relying on their quickly depleting grain stores. Caligor quickly became a local legend, tilling fields single handedly and beating back gangs with his brothers, who after some time accepted him as a friend and brother.

===Manhood===

Once the Primarch reached his eighteenth year it was clear his sleepy farm town would never be big enough for him, outclassing everyone of his school mates in sports and the liberal arts, his blunt and cocky nature hiding a shrewd and passionate orator that believed deeply in the fundaments of his nation, that of Democracy, freedom, and liberty for those willing to defend it for themselves and others.

So he did what any proud Taletarian would do in such times of conflict and enlisted in the Taletarian Army along side his brothers and eldest sister. Here in the crucible of military training the humble farming Kincaids found their strength and teamwork honed into the skills of talented soldiers. Caligore himself was noted almost immediately upon his induction to the force for his freakish physique and almost supernatural affinity for combat. After his initial training he was taken from his siblings and introduced to the Taletarian Elite Commandos. Here the Primarch was to be tested to his limits, but there he only found excitement and greater brotherhood. Here he learned the secrets of airborne and recon warfare, hitting the enemy where it hurts the hardest.

After months of highly rigorous training and recognition for his skill in battle skills and leadership, Caligore was finally deemed ready to go down range and meet the enemy. The greatest enemy to the safety of Taletar in this age of World War was the ever expanding nation of Bravig. Driven by religious imperative, powered by ancient technology, and supported by vassal states, Bravig was an unstoppable juggernaut across Haravian hemisphere, Telatar only protected by political neutrality. But their time of safety would come to an end as they conquered the nation of Fvalen, a steadfast ally of Taletar and a source of major trade. It was for this reason that the Primarch found himself on a stealth jet to the Fvalish mountains on a mission to clear out Bravigian bunkers on the mountain side. In the weeks Caligore's Commandos spent in those mountains over a hundred enemy soldiers died on those slopes, and the brash and bold idealist farmer became a deadly soldier.

But the fledgling Primarch wouldn't be so shaken by violence, his genetic calling. Instead his escapades across Fvalen as Captain Kincaid only served to embolden him, wearing his kills and skills as a badge of honour. If one were to hear about him from his soldiers, he was a god damned war hero. To hear about the famed Caligore Commandos from any other unit that has worked with him, he was a braggart and a maniac wiping his soldiers up like a wild conductor over an orchestra of grinning madmen. No matter who you talked to however, it could be agreed that he at the very least a good leader. He always measured a soldier by their capability and motivation, both in equal measure, and never tasked a soldier with a task he himself wouldn't do (a somewhat hilarious standard considering that he was the largest, and possibly the most deadly, individual on the planet), and as insufferable as less high speed soldiers found his bravado, it was nothing short of infectious.

The Taletarian Army burned through Fvalen, liberating the country in a short three months and recouping the Fvalish military, and forming and allied coalition with the remaining free nations of Haravi to turn the tides against the Bravigian invasion. The largest factor in the success of the campaign was the tactical ineptitude of the enemy. For all their arcane technology and ancient, powerful machinery the Bravigian military preferring to operate from trenches and bunkers, or using extremely outdated tactics such as line firing. However the secret behind their vast empire of slave nations was their vast nuclear arsenal, an ancient stockpile of doomsday weapons left from the Dark Age of Technology. The threat of nuclear annihilation was usually more than enough to bring any nation they wished to heel. Taletar, however, was not known for its cowardice in the face of danger. Unfortunately their burgeoning campaign had angered the nuclear powerhouse, and the Bravigian establishment threatened the world with nuclear decimation should every nation on Haravi not lay down their arms.

Their hands forced, the coalition entered a cease fire to negotiate the terms of surrender. However, in a desperate move to escape the clutches of tyranny, the Taletarian High Command concocted a bold plan inspired from recent intelligence. Commando units from across the coalition would infiltrate Bravig, and utilizing the fresh intelligence intercepted from the enemy, seize the nuclear launch sites, and hold the world hostage until Bravig and their "allies" surrendered unconditionally. This risky plan was to headed by none other than Colonel Caligor "Mad Cal" Kincaid himself. The infiltration was quick and quiet, the allied commandos deploying from stealth aircraft into the hidden silo fields. However as they infiltrated the complex

===The Great Crusade===

===The Hektor Heresy===

===Post-Heresy===

==Personality==

Caligor is nothing short of bold, a character filled with an abundance of bravado. Caligor is quick to make a crude joke and a light-hearted jest at the expense of another, all in fun rarely in insult. Fond of fighting, drinking, and women the Primarch comes of as more of a crude soldier than a lofty Primarch. In fact Caligor much prefers the company of his officers and soldiers, even those within the Imperial army than that of his "Father" or many of his "brothers". That is not to say he is completely asocial with other legions, in fact he can be quite jovial and relaxed, especially when working with Primarchs from whom he can believe he can learn something from. In his private times the idealistic farmer of his youth emerges, Caligor becoming a student of history and rhetoric, especially in matters warfare and the mind and spirit of a warrior. Despite his laid back gung ho and cocksure nature, in these quiet hours Caligor feels most at peace. The only other time he truly feels at home is upon the battlefield.

In the battle field he is a silent tempest, patrolling the battlefield like a shark, until the shooting begins and he transforms into a laughing, grinning maniac, laying down fire like a tempest. Where one warrior would find a desperate, losing battle Kincaid finds a grand joke and riddle that can only be solved with ultraviolence. Beyond the joy he finds in battle he is exceedingly fatalistic, preferring to risk his own life as opposed to that of his men, a tactic that even he can admit is fool hardy but it is better than feeding his men to a meat grinder battle.

=Appearance=

Short and stocky Caligor is one of the shortest Primarchs, Roman being the only primarch to fall underneath him in height (a fact he often jests about).
His dirty blonde hair is cut short in military fashion, often hidden by his old Commando beret. Thick stubble decorates his face, intersected with scars and nicks. The skin about the corner of his mouth and cheeks scarred, the marks of when he screamed with such fury his mouth tore open. A great snaking scar runs down his face intersecting a cut across his crooked nose, marks from his fateful encounter with a fellow primarch during the Siege of Terra. Perhaps once he would have been called statuesque, but now he has more in common with a lump of clay, or dented bronze figure.
Using aggressive tactics and mixed unit assets to hit the enemy and hit them hard. The Eagles deploy almost exclusively via drop pod, or from dropping from swooping thunderhawks, both infantry and cavalry units.

=Legion History=
==Unification Wars==
The Seventh Squad, as they were known in those prehistoric times, were a respected force. What the Seventh lacked in ferocity on the battlefield they made up in efficiency. They rode in with the Seventeenth as infantry support.

Their history began in the Eastern Wastes, vast marshlands and ruined coasts. Their first engagement was held within the strongholds of Fildelphii, a labyrinthine hive that had defended the Viscounts of Sylarvainia for centuries. Traditional maneuver elements proved to be ineffectual, personnel often becoming entangled in the twisting halls and streets of the city without armoured elements to provide proper support. To solve this smaller teams were used with extensive air support. The effects were felt immediately, as the smaller units were able to cover more ground in less time in the cramped urban conditions, and with the strong aireal assests providing overwatch they were almost unstoppable. When the Seventh Squad began siezing vital infrastructure, such as water processing plants, and threatening Fildelhpiian leadership with them, such as introducing promethium into the water supplies, the Viscounts began to be a little more willing to enter into peace negotiations.

Their skill was tested again in the battle grounds of Ba'al-Timur,some of the most aggressive and desperate fighting the Seventh Sqaud had seen thus far. The Marshlands of Ba'al-Timur led into sunken urban sprawls, vast webs of hive hidden by ancient ruins and murky waters. Infantry engagements were often short and deadly, the Astartes unaccustomed to this kind of asymmetrical warfare and guerilla tactics. Air support, while effective, was often a temporary solution, as the Survivors of air raids would escape back into the depths and continue to ellude the Seventh. Attempts at negotiations were met with bloodshed, and attempts to rat them out of their caves and grottos and sunken dungeons was only met with lost marines. It was only until the Seventh began to simply use bombardments and set charges to collapse the cave systems that they were able to bring the clans of Ba'al-Timur to heel.

>Blew stuff up and went terrorist mode when they couldn't use verbal judo

>Famed front line fighters using equal parts subterfuge and force

>Became students of ancient Merican thought, adopting principles of battle and democracy, their loyalty to the Emperor as their commander and chief was unquestionable but their comfort with the Imperium as a societal construct was always...shaky.

>Most of the squad was destroyed during the siege of Luna, proving themselves in the end to Hektor

>>Notable battles

>The Burning of Ba'al-Timur

>The Demolition of Daecee

==Great Crusade==
>Forerunner force, pushing ahead in the great crusade. The very point of the spear

>Tried to bring worlds under Imperial rule peacefully when possible, preferring to liberate worlds under their own recognizance, thus their title "Liberators"

>However when they couldn't negotiate with the enemy they would trade the olive branch for the sword, holding no quarter with the enemy. However they learned from past engagements, namely Terra, that nothing frustrates a formal military more than asymmetrical warfare. While finding the practice cowardly and best left in the hands of other legions, they would find ways to implement irregular warfare preferring rapid tactical insertion and attacking vital infrastructure and personnel via airborne and cavalry assaults.

>They find their primarch, one of the last legions to do so, and easily adopt his commando tactics. However Cal does take his whole legion to Haravi and its moons for two years to train and full assimilate himself into the legion, to the Emperor's great disatisfaction.

>The pause in their crusade payed off, their effectiveness increasing tenfold. However their penchant for diplomacy was diminished slightly, the legion often issuing a single planet wide command for unconditional surrender before beginning to insert marines and decimating the world until resistance is either dead or surrendered.

>After Haravi is nuked and Caligor's heart hardened opposing worlds would count themselves lucky if they received any demands for surrender, the Crimson Eagles often choosing to simply raze them to the ground until the enemy was little more than ash.

==The Heresy==
>Hektor, knowing full well that a) Cal isn't a huge fan of the Emperor, since he's essentially a tyrant and stopped him from delivering the final blow at Bravig which would have saved his family and nation b) Cal will know when he's being manipulated and doesn't like people talking to him sideways so he more or less straight up asks him "Hey, wanna heresy?" with the promise of being able to forge his own democracy after the heresy, all he needs is the Eagles and his tactical accumen to break down the defenses of Terra.

>Cal considers this and discusses it with his legion, and they all decide to put it up for a vote. The majority of the votes went to rebellion, with a sizable majority of loyalists. Predictably the Eagles being the Eagles there is a giant legion civil war, which drags their allied Imperial Army Regiments in with them. It's amongst the bloodiest fighting of the Heresy. Once the smoke clears the surviving Loyalists book it to Terra, letting the Loyalist primarchs that Cal has gone rouge.

>The Crimson Eagles however finally join the fight, the definitive turing point in the Heresy.

>They finally reach Terra, and tear the place up. Caligor kills a Primarch and wounds another (we can talk about who) but loses and arm, leg, and eye

>Fucks off after Hektor fights the Emperor.

==The Scouring==
>I don't know what this is and the wikipage doesn't really make it any clearer.

==Post-Heresy==
>Goes full Big Boss and basically makes Outer Heaven, claiming a sector or two to rebuild his forces and claim some infrastructure. The worlds underneath him are relatively free, although they do tithe men and resources to support the Crimson Eagles.

>Remaining loyalists blow the Haravi the fuck up, and he moves his the Eagles to a space hulk duck taped to a space fortress and moves around as a PMC. A lot of the younger eagles fell to Chaos, creating the vast majority of piratical warbands out there.

>Caligor still questions if he did the right thing.

=Organisation=
The Organization of the Crimson Eagles is rather standard for an Astartes Legion, consisting of ten Chapters with five Companies each, the only variation in standard legion organization being the platoon level, in which squads fall under. The platoon formation allows for greater specialization within a company, and ultimately a chapter. While Chapters tend to prefer to stay relatively similar in performance and composition for simplicities sake, chapters and their companies often build a certain reputation for certain battlefield roles, such as boarding actions, or liberal use of promethium to suppress the enemy. Due to the extremely dangerous nature of Eagle deployments and their frontlines recruitment strategy their numbers tend to fluctuate rapidly, with fresh blood often going to those units most grievously in need of bodies.

==Support Formations and Auxilia==
>Heavy use of Inperial Army assets, usually those which compliment the Eagles doctrine or cover tactical gaps, such as armoured elements, artillery pieces, naval fleets, engineers etc

>Relationship with the Mechanicus was always tenuous, as the Eagles were notoriously tough on equipment.

==Specialist Units==
>Black Cats- Caligor's honor guard, modeled after his original Commando unit, the 13th Black Cats. Less of a honor guard than his personal hit squad.

==Elite Formations==
==Fleet==

>If the tanks and fighting vehicles can't get the job done, call in the jets and choppers
==Arms, Armour, & Equipment==
>Assault packs, Stalker bolters, bayonets, volkite weapons

>Due to their fore runner nature and efficiency, as well as Caligor bullying the AdMech, the Legion typically had some pretty good gear, which os why the AdMech fucking hated them for busting it up. There was many times in which they had to resort to Heresy pattern as opposed to the preferred Maximus and shitty bolter patterns because thwy where so out of the loop
==Unification Wars==

==The Heresy==

<span style="font-size:140%">"'''T'''</span>he Crimson Eagles are consummate front lines soldiers, eager to fight and quick to end a battle. Using aggressive tactics and mixed unit assets to hit the enemy and hit them hard. The Eagles deploy almost exclusively via drop pod, or from dropping from swooping thunderhawks, both infantry and cavalry units.

=Legion History=
==Unification Wars==

Their first engagement was held within the strongholds of Fildelphii, a labyrinthine hive that had defended the Viscounts of Sylarviania for centuries.

>The Liberation of Fidelphi

>The Demolition of Daecee

==Great Crusade==

==The Heresy==

==The Scouring==
>I don't know what this is and the wikipage doesn't really make it any clearer.

==Post-Heresy==

==Support Formations and Auxilia==

==Specialist Units==
>Black Cats- Caligor's honor guard, modeled after his original Commando unit, the 13th Black Cats. Less of a honor guard than his personal hit squad.

==Elite Formations==
==Fleet==

=Doctrine=
==Strategy==
>Insert Marines quietly

>Find squishy things

>Get VERY loud

>??????

>Profit?

>Airborne insertion and targeted destruction of valuable infrastructure and personel via high impact sexual violence supported by aerial and mechanized assests.

The Crimson Eagles

==Tactics==
>If grunts can't get the job done call in the guns on wheels.
>If the tanks and fighting vehicles can't get the job done, call in the jets and choppers
>If they can't get the job done soak the area in promethium and napalm and move on

==Arms, Armour, & Equipment==

=Culture=

>HOOAH/HOORAH

>If they run, they're a Xeno. If they Stay they're a well trained xeno.

>The Crimson Eagles are the greatest military force in the universe. This is Imperical fact

>Fuck Xenos. Their babies taste delicious however.

>THIS IS MY BOLTER. THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT BUT THIS ONE IS MINE

>Muh Democratic Republics
>Muh Freedoms for the common Man
>Muh Sic Semper Tyranus

>Be polite, professional, and have a plan to kill everyone you meet. Lol who are we kidding, get drunk, flip tables, fuck bitches, burn shit.

>No homo bro

==Homeworld & Notable Domains==
==Training==
>Long and hard but ultimately worth it. As the legion got more reckless and bloodthirsty a lot of training was done on the battle field
==Traditions and Philosophies==

==Notable Personnel==
