2601:1C0:5C00:EFC0:A49F:FC3B:719B:69B6: Don't know about Chaos dodging tomb worlds. . .tryanids do though if i recall.

Noctilith is the High Gothic term coined by the Adeptus Mechanicus for Blackstone. Yes, that Blackstone, the same stuff that was used to construct the self-same Blackstone Fortresses from Battlefleet Gothic, as well as the mysterious Pylons found on Cadia.

Despite being native to the Material realm, Blackstone interacts naturally with the energies of the Warp. As the experiments of Belisarius Cawl soon discovered, the material reacts differently depending on the polarity used; it either repels the warp, as it did on Cadia, or magnifies Warp energy exponentially, creating the Warp Beams that the Fortresses are so infamous for.

In the wake of the creation of the Great Rift, there's a mad scramble among magos to try and find more of the stuff. Much to their surprise, they've found caches of Blackstone on many of their Forge Worlds.

The problem? Where there's Blackstone, there's sure to be Necrons, and as many Magos found to their horror, many Forge Worlds were built on Necron Tomb Worlds. And if the likes of Tyranids give something a wide birth for the threat they pose (as they do more and more with the Necrons of late), then that should tell you something.

Obviously, the Necrons don't want to share, since most of their Anti-Warp tech require Blackstone to work; it doesn't help that the Crypteks that originally built the Pylons and other tech are only just beginning to awaken (and even then most of them have damaged memories so it's unclear if they can still remember how to make new ones). Not surprisingly, open war broke out, but it is a war that the Mechanicus is slowly losing, as more and more Tomb Worlds stir...

The Corrupted Shards
Shards of the Cadian Pylons were retrieved from the ruins of Cadia, and after corrupted by profane rituals, used to seal off the main Warp Routes out of the Sol system. If not for a rogue operation by Adeptus Custodes and Sisters of Silence, this would have isolated Roboute Guilliman on Terra before he could launch the Indomitus Crusade.

The Noctilith Crown
First unveiled on Vigilus, the Noctilith Crown is a gate created out of Blackstone used to weaken the borders between worlds, which allow Daemons easier purchase in the material world. As one of Abaddon's bag of tricks, it's obviously used to devastating effect on the Imperial defenders there.

NeedsImages

Dreas are a playable race unique to the Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition setting of Planegea. They are, to put it simply, trees that have watched the mortals running around and figured "hey, that looks like fun; I want to give that a go!"

In all seriousness... that's actually a pretty accurate summary. Being that Planegea is the Stone Age, when magic is incredibly abundant and the multiverse has yet to form into distinct planes, there's a lot of spiritual energy running around, and so it is that trees can just randomly decide to give this "being human" thing a go. Whilst it's not explicit, dreas theoretically could be an ancestral/basal form of the treant and/or dryad.

Dreas are always humanoid, and can take masculine or feminine appearances. Their original status as plants shows through in their appearances; sap-green or wood-hued flesh, bark-like skin, hair of leaves, moss or flowers, and a tendency to stand in the sun or rain for hours with face upturned. Individual dreas vary in just how human they are; some could pass for humans with orc ancestry, whereas others more visibly display their nature with things like obviously wooden limbs or literally branching horns or antlers. Getting the right number of fingers and toes can also be kind of tricky. Whilst they can grow bark, leaves or moss from their flesh to preserve their modesty, most dreas prefer to just do the human thing and wear clothing made from skin and cloth. During fall and winter, a dreas seems to physically age, gaining up to 10 years of apparent age by midwinter, with the process inverting itself during spring and summer, to looking ten years younger by midsummer.

Temperament wise, dreas tend to be defined by two things: curiosity and drivenness. Those dreas who changed from their original tree forms due to fascination with a particular individual or clan will invariably seek to join with the source of their awakening in some manner, but even those who don't awaken just for the desire to explore the world beyond a single grove are still highly curious and inquisitive. Those dreas who awaken from sheer curiosity or wanderlust are notorious experience seekers, constantly on the move and often blithely accepting danger as the price to pay for attaining a deeper understanding of the world. Naturally, they maintain a close affection for the natural world - they do remember their previous existences as trees with perfect clarity, after all - and often they seek to guide the mortals around them to a harmonious balance with the forest.

Sadly, a dreas' tale doesn't always have a happy end. Being completely new to this whole "humanoids" thing, despite typically wanting to help, it's not uncommon for a dreas to wind up an outcast. Small cliques of outcast dreas have been known to form seclusive, secretive and highly spiteful clans of their own. Despite this hardship, most dreas are happy to have made the chance.

Mechanically, a dreas has the following stats and traits:
::Ability Score Increase: +2 Wisdom, +1 Charisma
::Size: Medium
::Speed: 30 feet
::Darkvision: 60 feet.
::Botanical Form: Your creature type is Plant, not Humanoid.
::Photosynthesis: Whilst you still need the same amount of water per day as a human, you need exposure to 1 hour's worth of sunlight, natural or magical, in lieu of eating that 1 pound of daily rations. In fact, trying to eat solid food will make you sick (Poisoned condition!) for 1d4 hours.
::From the Forest: You can cast Druidcraft, and gain the ability to cast Speak With Plants 1/day and Charm Person 1/day at 3rd level. All of these spells use Charisma as their spellcasting ability score. Your Charm Person SLA can target sentient plants as well as humanoids.
::Tree Step: You gain the ability to enter a tree and move from inside it to inside another tree of the same kind within 500 feet. Both trees must be living and at least as large as you. You must use 5 feet of movement to enter a tree. You instantly know the location of all other trees of the same kind within 500 feet and, as part of the movement used to enter the tree, can either pass into one of those trees or step out of the tree you’re in. You appear in a spot of your choice within 5 feet of the destination tree, using another 5 feet of movement. If you have no movement left, you appear within 5 feet of the tree you entered. You can use this trait once and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. You must end your turn outside a tree.
