It has the options to swap the twin Heavy Bolters for a Skyhammer Missile Launcher or 2 Multi-Meltas for 20 Pts. each. The Helfrost cannons can either fire a single Strength 8, AP1 24″ ranged shot, or a S6, AP3 Blast attack at the same range. With a nice transport capacity for your Grey Hunters or Blood Claws, this thing is suited for launching deep into the middle of a packed gunline and unleashing CQC Rape.

The Caestus Assault Ram is one of the Imperium's solution to one of the conundrums of space battle when needing to capture an enemy voidship/its crew/its contents: can't shoot it since there's a big risk of blowing it up for good, docking with it is too slow and hazardous and teleporting squads inside is hard and imprecise. So what do they do in such cases? Send manned vehicles to ram the target and deliver a bunch of warriors straight into the voidship's bowels without damaging it too much, of course! (Whether this is stupidly hilarious or hilariously stupid, we'll let you judge. Just know that the Boarding Torpedo has been part of 40k's fluff since basically forever.)

Overview
The Caestus is the Space Marine-only version, a vehicle originally developed for boarding other spacecraft. Its magna-melta fires a shot to weaken the enemy's hull, and then the armored prow smashes its way in. Meanwhile, the occupants are held in an inertial dampening restraint system that protects them from the shock of impact; each restraint harness is so big, it can accommodate a Terminator or a regular Space Marine, so the Caestus can deliver a full squad of any kind of Marine imaginable, limited only by the number of restraint harnesses aboard (thus ignoring the Bulky special rule). Once the Assault Ram has penetrated the enemy hull, the assault charges disrupt any defenders with a blast of shrapnel, the clamps release, the hatches drop, and the occupants charge into the fray.

Eventually, the Space Marines realized that the traits that made the Caestus so good at assaulting spacecraft made it very well-suited for ground attack as well. The magna-melta doesn't care whether it's melting a hull, a bunker, or a tank, and the restraint system and durable internal structure and hull meant that the Caestus could make steep orbital drops into zones too dangerous for a Thunderhawk or Drop Pod, especially once it had been upgraded with anti-gravity panels like the Land Speeder. Its frontal reinforcement, meant to ram its way into the often metres-thick outer hull of a capital voidship, also made it rather good at ramming pretty much everything else. So now some Space Marine chapters make ground assaults using Metal Boxes falling from the sky like Steel Rain. Speaking of which, this would work extra well if combined with Deathwind drop pod attacks. Those always come before manned drop pods come in, so the enemy would not be expecting this giant double-penis to shove deep into their threats and face-fuck them with its terribly deadly load.

On the Tabletop
The Caestus Assault Ram's model was created by Forge World for their Imperial Armour volumes covering the Badab War.
Its rules are also now covered in Forge World's Horus Heresy series, confirming it was in use by many Legions during the 30k era, particularly the Imperial Fists Legion that often treats void warfare as a three-dimensional siege in space, with heavy preference for boarding actions by their Terminators and Breacher Squads deliveries.

Just when you thought the Space Marines have created the most un-aerodynamic aircraft ever, we get this... thing. In keeping with the Marine tradition of brutally massacring the air, the Stormfang Gunship is little more than a flying metal box built around a fuckhuge Helfrost Destructor. Almost like the A-10 Warthog, but ten times dumber and even less aeronautic. Appearance-wise, it looks like some Iron Priest just ordered his Artificers(a type of Chapter Serf) to strap a massive gun to the middle of a Caestus Assault Ram and called it a day. It comes with sponson mounts which can mount either Heavy Bolters, Skyhammer Missiles, or Multi-meltas, and can also mount Stormstrike Missiles or twin-linked Lascannons on hull mounts. To top it all off, it can still transport six Marines, as it does share a frame with the Stormwolf transport.

Now, on the tabletop, this thing is identical to the Stormwolf in terms of defense (AV12, Ceramaite, and 3 Hull Points), and only costs 5 points more than its transporting cousin. Don't think of it as a dedicated assault vessel, though, owing to its abysmal Transport Capacity, the only Access Point being at the rear, and by the fact that it does not count as an assault vehicle. The Helfrost Destructor can fire either a dispersed or focussed beam, the former being Strength 6, AP 3 Large Blast and the latter being a Strength 8, AP 1 Lance shot. The Stormfang counts as a Heavy Support choice instead of Fast Attack (like the Stormwolf), and in all honesty, the Stormwolf might be the better choice, with a comparative arsenal, counting as an assault vehicle, and a much better transport capacity (16 Marines).

How this flying box can fight against other aircraft (or even turn), I have no idea.
The Retributors are a homebrew Space Marine Chapter. They are most notable for appearing in the Astartes fan film which they were made for.

Their speciality is operations in which they will be operating operationally like the operational operators that they are, that is, they're all about improvisational tactics. Unlike most marines, they are capable of developing battleplans on the fly and working in small fireteams rather than larger squads and companies. In fact, they prefer to work in small independent teams and hit critical/valuable targets to help friendly forces, especially their Impulsor squads, who basically spearhead this strategy. And they all do this with an absolute minimum of dialogue.

They mostly flew under the radar through out Imperial history as they tend to not care for glory, meaning when the job was done they would pack up their stuff and leave while other chapters would break out the champagne. Because of this it's likely they have fought and operated in multiple conflicts and war zones, without their deeds being told to the wider Imperium. They did gain some recognition for their actions during Argosa uprising (which you can go watch on the Astartes youtube channel) as during the clean up operations the entire Chapter disappeared without a trace.

After a while the High Lords declared the chapter lost and when Guilliman returned, a new chapter of Primaris Space Marines were sent to their Fortress-Monastery to replace them. However when the marines arrived the new chapter master and the 1st company found evidence that the original chapter had survived, and was still carrying out operations with out the Imperium knowing. As a result of this evidence the new Chapter master sent the other 9 companies to join a different Imperial fists successor chapter and turned the 1st company into 11th company which he became Captain of. The Retributors 11th Company now holds vigil over the Fortress Monastery and are very secretive about its findings.

The Gellar Field is a energy field that protects a space ship, oneself, and crew from getting a Class 10 Clusterfucking from Chaos while traveling in the Warp.

As everyone knows, the only way to get anywhere without taking fucking forever is to use the Warp. That is, unless you are the Eldar, in which case you can go much faster with Webways as long as you don't get lost (actually Webways are usually slower, trading speed for safety). Or you are the Tyranids and can use gravitational Star Trek bullshit. Or you are the Necrons and can screw the laws of physics seven ways till Sunday. Or you are the Tau who invent new and less-shitty-then-previous but still-shitty-non-Warp-limit-as-x-goes-to-the-speed-of-light drives like every 20-30 years (well, we say “invent” but the Eldar noted their “crippling lack of creativity” so more like they go Blood Raven on intellectual property...so, like Space China but small). So maybe not everyone knows. But everyone definitely knows that all sorts of fucked up shit lives in the Warp, whose ONLY goal is to fuck you up (both literally and metaphorically) in 57 (or more) different variations. The Gellar Field prevents this from happening, so the Servants of the Imperium can go to your planet and kill your Chaos-worshipping ass!

The Warp, Giant Space Cathedrals and You
Its been mentioned a few times in the fluff that while the Gellar field on Imperial ships most definitely has a mechanical component, the field is reinforced by all the giant statues and gold bling that the humans of the setting feel the need to shove on every square inch of the hull. It actually makes a kind of sense when you think about it: The warp is a realm governed not by boring old logic but rather the thoughts and feelings of everyone in real space. Since Imperial ships are already borderline worshipped by humans as the physical manifestation of humanity's might and manifest destiny to rule the stars, turning them into actual space borne cathedrals (I.E. places of worship) could have an effect similar to the old belief that demons can't enter holy ground. Typically, this works pretty well as the greatest threat to an Imperial ship whose Gellar Field fails is the Warp itself, not the daemons. Daemonic incursions aboard are rare but not rare enough and the crew often manages to fight off the invaders either until they reach their destination or until they can safely drop out of the Warp. This ability to hold their ground likely is solely due to their faith and the holy ground thing. Notice that Imperial ships during the Great Crusade who suffered a daemonic invasion were unheard of. As in, never heard from again. Because atheism is a bad idea against enemies dominated by belief.

The True Nature of Gellar Fields
Highlighting how grimdark the Imperium is (as well as the fact that humans grudgingly need psykers), Ashes of Prospero and Farsight: Crisis of Faith both mention that the Gellar field's primary component is generated by the dreams of a psyker kept in a perpetual coma. According to Aaron Dembski-Bowden the idea that Gellar fields being powered by comatose psykers always been of the in-house 40k lore at Games Workshop at least as far back as Andy Hoare's time (so likely 3rd ed or earlier), and has only been revealed to the audience relatively recently. He also adds that the psykers tapped to power the Gellar fields burn out rather quickly and have to be replaced fairly often. Although the idea of psykers being wired up as Matrix-style batteries and treated like promethium tanks sounds grimdark as all hell, actually thinking about the implications of this reveals a huge number of plot holes.

Perhaps the biggest issue with Gellar fields being powered by the dreams of comatose psykers is that Dark Age of Technology humanity invented Gellar field generators by M15 (as that's when humanity invented Warp travel and began using it frequently), before there were any psykers around to power them. At the time of the Gellar Field's invention, the only psykers around (aside from the Emperor) were the artificially-created Navigators. Psykers only began appearing in large numbers by M25, and part of the reason for the Age of Strife is that Dark Age of Technology humanity was unfamiliar with psykers and did not know how to handle them in the first place. In other words, humanity would have to have been using a device powered by captured psykers for ten thousand years before they knew what psykers even were.

Additionally, Gellar Fields being powered by comatose psykers creates logistical issues. If comatose psykers are required for Gellar fields, this means that every ship in the Imperium, all the ships in the Imperial Navy, every Space Marine Battle Barge, every merchant chartership and civilian vessel, and all the ships of renegades who don't outright serve Chaos, all throughout the galaxy, now requires psyker batteries to be able to Warp travel at all. This is in a galaxy where psykers are rare enough that the Imperium has an an entire institution dedicated to rounding up psykers and sending them to Holy Terra where they can be used to power the important things that do require psykers as fuel (like the Golden Throne or Astronomican). How do all these ships, which are often in far-flung corners of the galaxy and (in the case of the Imperial Navy and Rogue Traders) leave Imperial space for months at a time, find enough psykers to power their Gellar field generators? This issue is magnified even further if the psykers powering the Gellar fields burn out regularly and have to be replaced.

Finally, why would the dreams of a comatose psyker of all things be what projects the bubble of realspace surrounding the starship, when dreams are one of the most illogical and unrealistic parts of the human psyche? This is something that 40k lore actually touches on when it talks about how unreliable the astropath system is because it relies on communicating messages through dreams. If anything, one would expect a Gellar field produced by the dreams of comatose psykers to project the acausal and chaotic world of dream logic onto the confines of the ship, which is... basically what unprotected Warp travel is anyway.

Let's Take an Example
The Orks are a fantastic test case of what happens when someone who doesn't use Gellar Fields travels through the Warp.

The Orks can use a similar device to a Gellar Field, that focuses the power of the WAAAGH! into an energy field to keep the Daemons and other warp monsters away. It involves jamming Really Big Teef onto the ship in an effort to frighten passing Warp-monsters. Hell yeah! This may or may not be a kind of ferryman payment to Gork or Mork for safe passage. Of course, if that technique doesn't work, the Orks will usually just give the unlucky daemons that tried to board their spacecraft a good stompin'. Either way, the Orks like both outcomes.

Many grassroots WAAAGH!s get underway by hitching a ride on a passing Space Hulk. These are convenient because they can enter and exit the Warp (saving on having to make a very complicated Warp Drive), have tons of cargo space (for all of the boyz to ride in), and frequently come equipped with friendly passengers such as Genestealers, Daemons, Chaos Cultists, or other some forgotten horror (for in-flight entertainment). This travel method, while common for Orks, would be utterly disastrous for any other race. Space Hulks have no guidance systems: they can spend decades in the Warp and come out right where (and when) they started, or spend a few days in the Warp and arrive hundreds of years in the past around a totally uninhabited planet. While all of this waiting around is happening, the totally unshielded Hulk is ripe for invasion from Daemons, who not only look at Realspace beings as a food source but are actively drawn to anything Real that happens to pass by. Brainsuckers, sanity-feeders, life-drainers, and eight-million copies of Radical Larry are on standby to slither into the Hulk and track down any Ork stupid enough to have hitched a ride in the first place. All of that would be bad enough, but because the Warp and Realspace don't mix well, Space Hulks are constantly in danger of doing things like phasing into themselves, having infinitely-looping corridors and generally getting all M.C. Escher.

It's lucky for the Orks that they don't care much. Any other race would be driven mad, slaughtered entirely, and/or be devastated to learn that they arrived decades too late (or hundreds of years too early) to stop the conflict they were sent to fight. Orks by contrast will readily fight anything and everything, including themselves (and terrifying horror-movie antagonists) as a general first response to unpleasant or unfamiliar circumstances. Due to their below-average intelligence they generally take eldritch horror with a puzzled chin-scratch and eventual dismissal (or assault and battery). Ork WAAAGH!s are also fairly independent of things like nations or strategic timelines, so "showing up too late" is almost always a non-issue. (In one instance the Orks in question showed up too early, catching their own WAAAGH! right before it left. Long story short, the Warboss killed his past self to get two of his favorite gun and the WAAAGH! stopped in its tracks) The above is not to say that Orks who hitch a ride on Space Hulks are perfectly fine. They aren't. Many would-be WAAAGH!s begin and end when the horde jumps aboard a Space Hulk, and it shows up on the other side of the galaxy with a few thousand new sets of Ork skeletons inside.

Now i realize that this is gonna need some dumbing down, think of the Gellar Field as ways to enter a party. The Imperial way is to sneak in without drawing attention and getting swamped by the crowd. The Ork way of doing things is to jump into the sea as long and as annoying as possible, either annoying everything away or, much like a college Frat party, drawing in things either like-minded or things FAR worse. but then again these are Orks we're talking about, they probably think whatever jumps on to their boat is just some fighting practice until they reach wherever they seem to be going.

Going to Shit, Possibly Literally So
As of the opening of the Great Rift, Nurgle has devised an insidious new plague that has allowed him to bypass the shielding of the Gellar Fields. The <s>"Gellarpox"</s> Blam Engineer's Syndrome works by infecting the laborers who maintain the Gellar Field generators, and more importantly it spreads through the generator itself (luckily, said generator has to be malfunctioning, but even a single minor malfunction can cause it to be infected). The infected humans show no initial symptoms other than strange dreams, but are subtly compelled to sabotage their work so the Gellar Field begins to weaken. When the time is right, they mutate and the infected generator turns into a horrific mass of biomechanical infectious tissue that endlessly spawns mutants, abominations, and the occasional daemon, almost certainly dooming the voidship the generator was formerly a part of. Although, it seems to keep doing its job so if you can hold the line until entering realspace and then blast the thing, you have a chance.

The Salamander Reconnaissance Tank is an Imperial Guard fast light tank based on the Chimera chassis. Named after the Salamanders in universe, seemingly in a ploy by GW to confuse their players as much as possible.

Salamander Command Vehicle
Not to be confused with the SCV unit from StarCraft.

The Salamander Command Vehicle is a transport and command-and-control vehicle used by leaders of armored reconnaissance units. They're not meant to get into a fight; though they are armored enough in the front to be invulnerable to most infantry weapons, they are not so well protected from the sides and rear, and they are only armed with a heavy flamer and a heavy bolter, though they can also mount a heavy stubber or storm bolter (which can itself be fitted to an anti-aircraft mount, to chase away any flyers that get too close -- though given how wimpy these weapons are, most flyers won't feel threatened by them) and a hunter-killer missile for a little extra punch.

The primary utility of the Salamander Command Vehicle is not on the front line, but in the middle or rear; its improved communications equipment allow orders to be transmitted further and more clearly and lets the commander guide their troops more carefully, while the advanced detection systems help them spot infiltrators. For these reasons, the Salamander Command Vehicle is often requested even by officers who do not lead reconnaissance units. Notably, Ciaphas Cain often uses takes Salamander into battle, though Jurgen's driving often makes the trip more dangerous than the battle itself.

Salamander Scout Vehicle
The Salamander Scout Vehicle is the primary reconnaissance vehicle of the Imperial Guard Armored Battle Group Regiments. Though no match for a tank, it is fast and capable of leaving any dangerous situation quickly and, unlike the Sentinel scout, capable of protracted engagements with the light vehicles of enemy scout units.

Salamander Scout Vehicle usually work in pairs for mutual protection, taking turns as one vehicle moves forward under the cover of the other, since they are most likely to be ambushed or encounter a strong enemy position. The open top and lack of turret make the choice of sending this vehicle into potential ambushes questionable at best, but efficiency and practicality have never really been a big consideration for the Administratum.

For major offensives when there are insufficient numbers of Salamander Scouts it is common to mix them with Armoured Fist Squads temporarily detached from their parent platoon or company. While an offensive unit by nature, Salamander Scouts like their Command cousins are also used for rear area policing and security duties, such as patrolling supply routes or guarding headquarters units, when operating on the defensive.

It packs an autocannon instead of a heavy flamer, for slightly better anti-armor performance, but is otherwise not any more resilient than the command variant.

Tabletop
The Salamander is no longer on Forgeworld's menu so if you want to use one it's time to break out the bits and get converting or scour Ebay.

In 8th Edition, the Salamander is moved to the Elites slot and performs a little differently. It's now a mobile source of improved hit rolls, granting +1 to hit to one vehicle within 6". Alongside the Trojan Support Vehicle, this is a babysitter for your deathstar (either a superheavy vehicle or just a Leman Russ stuffed to the gills with plasma) and a fine one at that.
