Initially. This is where pop-culture was founded (or so Americans say), where most of the technical marvels that allows us neckbeards to write bullshit down on this very wiki to discuss tabletop games, and where also porno was born.

What can we say about America? Oh, so much. A land with so many states that it's hard to remember them all, especially for an American, and with so much history that the whole world teaches its history in school. A nation so powerful, its presidential elections are broadcasted worldwide. When 9/11 happened, everybody was concerned. But for us Nerds, America is nation of creators. A land of real opportunities that gave us true Fantasy cinema (before Hollywood went to shit... If it ever was good in the first place), a place where hard-working developpers gave us the best games of the era, a land where all fandoms rejoice and having a very weird obsession with a franchise is a tiny bit more socially acceptable. America is also the land of... Well, the Greediest, most corrupt, backstabbing, abusing, highly treasonous, unfairly powerful, slimiest, most disgusting companies on Earth, also the single worst branch of Christianity in its entire history. It is the land of literal whales, Activision, unhinged spiritualists and hooded racist gun-nuts. Yeah it's a lot of things. It's a wacky country.

America in tabletop gaming
Default setting for a lot of games produced there.

If there's a game with nation-state factions set within the last century or so it's usually going to be one of them as Americans are proportionally over-represented among tabletop gamers and shameless pandering sells miniatures. For the same reason expect the American faction to have a much more detailed characterization, with more units and options to choose from, than is average.
Nothing out-of-the-ordinary is happening at the moment. This is probably for the best, seeing as how most out-of-the-ordinary events are spambot invasions and hackers.
In June, a server move happened.

In August, server issues happened, but they were resolved in early September.

2011
Talk:Main Page/2011

In August, a Russian malicious user (under the name "Emperor of Gay") caused 1d4chan (and Lexicanum) to display only a picture of a bird, claiming that the website has moved to a new address (some Russian wiki). He accomplished this by monkeying around with templates and spamming pagemoves like crazy. He also messed around with the Relic Entertainment community wiki. His stated goal was to "destroy all Warhammer sites", but he failed and we all moved forward. Wikifag deleted all the junk pages, but because of the page-moves, loads of legitimate pages got caught in the crossfire, so Wikifag restored the site from a pre-attack backup.

In September, another malicious user operating under lots of account names (mostly based on Warhammer and /tg/ personae) scrambled up a bunch of the templates and categories. It took a couple of weeks to get it all cleaned out.

In November, another server upgrade happened. Also, AssistantWikifag was deputized to deal with spam.

2012
Talk:Main Page/2012

In March, Wikifag upgraded the site to the latest version of MediaWiki.

In June, Wikifag added new namespaces for Campaigns and Settings.

Over the summer, the spam worsened. Incredibly. Seriously, look at that image and weep.

2013
Talk:Main Page/2013

In March, Wikifag performed some server maintenance and back-end cleanup. He also created namespaces for Quests and Stories in response to feedback at the almost-annual 1d4chan status thread (he created another namespace for :/TG/heim later that month when that became a major part of 1d4chan traffic). He also replaced the previous Captcha system with the current /tg/-trivia-question system, finally ending the spambot menace.

In April, Wikifag used his powers over the advertisements to advertise the Engine Heart Kickstarter campaign to print physical rulebooks. The campaign ended in May, with funding successfully obtained. Around the same time, he added a sidebar ad, which put 1d4chan solidly in the black. He did the same thing in September for 404: Law Not Found, a card game created by a friend of his about robots.

In September and November, the spambots learned the answers to the trivia questions (their dictionaries got updated, or their controllers were targeting this wiki specifically and solved them manually since we only have a few questions at a time) and started spamming again, and Wikifag changed up the questions to keep them out.

2014
In February, the spambots learned the answers to the trivia questions and Wikifag changed the questions in response.

2015-2018
We may have lost all records of this time period.

Omnissiah have mercy.

2019
Everything was pretty chill until some old loser who hadn't touched the site and a bunch of tad/pol/'s came and started editing the SJW and /pol/ pages, as well as starting fucking idiotic arguments. In response, Root protected both (thank you root). Time will tell if this is enough.

2020
The site crashed for a couple days. Root was awesome and brought it back rapidly, though now it's all "mobile-friendly" and "modern".
Site crashed again later, back online after a bit longer. Cause currently unknown.

2021
The site crashed for much longer this time, almost 3 weeks. Causes are unknown and efforts to contact Root have proved useless. Eventually our brave God Emperor brought the site back.

During this year Root removed this website from search engines. Since then he has been MIA. Plagiarists popped up to mirror the site to fucking Fandom of all places to capitalize on it not appearing in search engines, which without Root jack shit could be done about.

2022
Possibly due to normies and spambots no longer being able to find the wiki due to the search engine removal, 2022 was (mostly) uneventful with nothing of real sitewide note.

Significant growth has been made in the number of Flames of War and Star Wars pages, along with all the wonderful skub that can entail. Immature bickering and dumbass skub ensued and was resolved. Russia doing the funny resulted in some pages getting changes reflecting current events and situations in Ukraine. The website will sometimes present "slava ukraini" at the top in the page. No doubt our glorious leader Root was behind this.

2023
2023 started with Skub in the form of a large edit war over an anon inserting their negative opinion of Islam into pages related to the religion. While we aren't raging SJWs and can tolerate criticizing other-than-Big-C religions, the reason why the edit war happened is because the anon was a total ass about it.

There was also a minor trickle of spambots returning, though nothing compared to the days when we were listed on search engines.

Site crashed for a month. Mostly a result of bad timing, with network config dying at a time that was inconvenient for Root.

Lots of 40k lore stuff needs to be updated so we're expecting a busy year.
