Origins
Elspeth Tirel was born on an unnamed Plane that was dominated by Phyrexia. She lived amongst the human population of a tower that served as an asylum for insane Phyrexians, their lives spent as toys and distractions for their psychotic masters. When she was 13 years old a Phyrexian attacked her, igniting her Spark and Elspeth fell into the Blind Eternities. For four years she traveled the Planes until she found one she would make her home: Bant, one of the Shards of Alara.

Livin' in a Alaran Paradise
Bant was nothing less than a paradise: the romantic ideal of knighthood turned up to 11. Elspeth took up training as a squire and was knighted by the age of 20, one of the youngest knights ever. All was good until two years later another Planeswalker came crashing down onto Bant: Ajani Goldmane, fresh from the neighbouring plane of Jund. He warned her that the planes were going to combine soon, but she did not believe him and Ajani left to pursue his own goals.

Elspeth learned the truth when she and her squire Aran went to investigate a Rhox monastery, where they found a part where Bant overlapped with Grixis. The two returned to the castle they served which quickly came under attack from the Grixian forces. The battle did not go well for the knights until Aran was killed. Elspeth absolutely LOST HER SHIT and released a flash of light that turned all the undead and demons into less than dust. In a later battle she cast several buffs on Knight-General Rafiq who proceeded to tear Malfegor, the demon-dragon general of Grixis several new assholes. Having lost the pure world that was Bant, Elspeth angsted for a bit and left the plane.

Phyrexia Rises
Elspeth traveled to Urborg on Dominaria, where she spend her time in gladiatorial pits. Her old friend Ajani found her here, and tried to convince her that her talents were being wasted. She ignored him but accepted his gift: her armor and sword that she had left on Alara. During one of her fights she encountered a gladiator that bore the insignia of Phyrexia on his arm. The man, Koth of the Hammer, revealed he was from a Mirrodin, and the plane was under attack by Phyrexia. After recruiting her, they visited Venser whom Koth enlisted to the cause by less than friendly manners.

After a group of Nim attacked, Elspeth's mind was overtaken by visions of her past and she could not travel further. She sought refuge with a Vulshok shaman, who slapped some sense into her and essentially told her to grow a pair. She did just in time: Venser and Koth had been captured by the Phyrexians, and she freed them. The trio followed a Myr that led them into the Vault of Whispers, which in turn led them to Geth. He led the three into the world where they were ambushed by Phyrexians. The trio escaped and pressed on, encountering a group of Mirran rebels. They refused to let the planeswalkers go on, until Elspeth threatened their leader. Continuing their trek, they eventually ran into Tezzeret. The artificer was the one who sent the Myr to lead them into the Vault in the first place and tried to lead them into another trap in a surgery room. The trio was victorious once again and freed a Mirran woman named Melira, who was born without any metal being part of her body, making her immune to Phyrexia's corruption.

Bringing the woman to the rebels, Melira displayed the ability to cure those infected by Phyresis. While at the camp Tezzeret's forces attacked, and Melira went with the three Planeswalkers. After an attack Koth grew frustrated at the lack of progress and took Melira with him. Elspeth and Venser were overcome by a second attack, but not until Elspeth caused severe losses to the Phyrexians. Koth and Melira covertly freed the pair and lured Tezzeret's forces into battle with those of Glissa Sunseeker, while the rest snuck off towards their goal: the throne room.

Here they found Karn, who was nearly completely corrupted by the Phyrexian Oil. Melira's powers combined with Venser's spark purified Karn and brought him back to his feet, though Venser died in the process. Teaming up with Elspeth, Koth and Melira, the four set out to cure Mirrodin.

...And failed. Karn forced her to planeswalk away to Theros, a plane from which she stole a sword, where she decided to settle down and live normal life.

...And failed because she killed a marauding hydra which led to the local Sun God, Heliod taking an interest in her. No, not in the way you're thinking, although that actually would have made some sense since Heliod is basically a mashup of Zeus and Apollo. And did you notice that those Theriad quotes from throughout the block suggest that the Sun's Champion is always a woman?

Elspeth then saved the plane from a native planeswalker who had recently elevated himself to godhood, by killing said recently-elevated god. Soon after, she was killed by Heliod, who saw her as a threat. He also hated her and was jealous of how awesome she was.

Beyond Death
Though she died from the dickish machinations of Heliod, Elspeth wasn't entirely gone, instead being cast into the Underworld of Theros. While she normally would have gone to live in a paradise afterlife, Ashiok had other plans. Tormenting the fallen champion, Ashiok forced Elspeth to relive her fears and failures, such as when she accidentally killed Daxos and when she was struck down by Heliod. During one such nightmare, Elspeth reached out and grabbed Heliod's Spear, and when she awoke, she found herself in possession of an inky, shadowy perversion of the Khrusor, now dubbed the Shadowspear.

With this spear in hand, Elspeth had a new resolve to get out of the Underworld, once and for all. As an unforeseen consequence of Heliod's aforementioned dickery and paranoia, Theros was in open war, with the Gods bringing demigod champions to fight in their name. Erebos even got in the action, trying to mess up Heliod's plans, which caused rifts into the Underworld to pop up everywhere on Theros. Elspeth travels the Underworld, trying to find a rift out and kicking some ass as well. Her ass-kicking eventually earns her a following among the dead, and at the end of every fight she wins, she announces that her Shadowspear is the true Khursor to an uproarious agreement. Klothys, the God of Destiny and keeper of the Titans, was also pretty peeved about the whole affair, but was especially pissed off at Elspeth's attempt at escape. She sent forth agents of fate to try and reign Elspeth in, and when that did not work, she crafted a brand new one named Calix, whose sole purpose in life was to make sure Elspeth stays in the Underworld. He wasn't exactly successful, getting beat up with every encounter the two had but, to be fair, he was born yesterday and was still learning.

With Elspeth nearing a rift and his paranoia coming to a fever pitch, Heliod himself came down to the Underworld to block her path. Elspeth repeated that her Shadowspear was the true Khrusor, to which her followers whole-heartedly agreed. Using the power of Devotion and belief, Elsepth's lie became fact, and she shattered the now false Khrusor. Disarmed and bowed, Heliod had to surrender. Upon hearing his surrender, Erebos swooped in and placed Heliod under an impossibly heavy boulder Atlas-style, hoping to starve him of Devotion and eventually undo the sun God. As thanks for helping him get revenge on Heliod, Erebos let Elspeth leave, where she shared a tender moment with the revived Daxos before heading off. Calix, whose entire life purpose is to keep Elspeth in the Underworld, kind of had an existential breakdown, causing such mental anguish that his spark ignited and he planeswalked after her, despite Elspeth getting a pardon from Erebos.

Cards
Elspeth appears on four cards. Notably, the one carrying her full name was made after her first; most Planeswalkers invert this.

Elspeth, Knight-Errant costs 4 for 4 loyalty. She has two abilities for +1 that put either a 1/1 soldier on the battlefield or gives a creature +3/+3 and flying. Her ultimate makes all non-Planeswalker permanents you control indestructible for the rest of the game.

Elspeth Tirel costs 5 for 4 loyalty, with a +2 that gives you 1 life for each creature you control, -2 gives you three 1/1 soldiers, and her ultimate (that can be cast as early as the second turn she's in play) destroys all permanents, except for lands, tokens, and Elspeth herself.

Elspeth appears again in the Theros expansion, with the title Sun's Champion. Her new card costs six mana for four starting loyalty. Her +1 loyalty ability is identical to Elspeth Tirel's -2 ability. She has a -3 ability that destroys all creatures with power 4 or greater, and her ultimate grants all of your creatures +2/+2 and flying for the rest of the game.

Elspeth's latest reemergence in Theros: Beyond Death may just be one of the oddest incarnations of Elspeth that we have seen so far. Elspeth, Sun's Nemesis is a 2 generic, 2 white walker with 5 starting loyalty. Her -1 pumps up 2 of your dudes by +2/+1 until end of turn. Her -2 makes 2 1/1 soldiers. Her -3 gives you 5 life. Immediately, two things pop out: 1. She has no + Loyalty abilities, which is a trait that is only shared with one of the Sarkhan Vol cards and the uncommon walkers from War of the Spark. 2. She's a little bit weaksauce. She can barely protect herself with her -2, but she doesn't really give you much card advantage as most good walkers do. That brings us to her last ability: Escape. By paying 6 mana and exiling 4 other cards from your graveyard, you can play her again from the yard. This makes her a consistent engine, able to keep bringing herself back over and over again as long as you have chaff in the yard. Unless you exile her, you're going to keep facing Elspeth again and again. It probably doesn't save her overall powerlevel, but it is an interesting design.

Venser was a Planeswalker and artificer from Urborg, and played pivotal roles in The Mending and the rise of Phyrexia. He also bears an uncanny resemblance to the Tenth Doctor and Phil Kelly. While Venser does not know many offensive spells, his main method of fighting is the use of teleportation and phasing, making enemies unable to hit him or suddenly having to deal with a 100 meter drop.

Origins
Born and raised in the swamps of Urborg, Venser's early years were harsh ones as he eked out a living as a scavenger and budding artificer. This displeased Urborg's protector, Lord Windgrace, forcing Venser to constantly live on the run. To escape this life he began to work on a device called the Ambulator, a reverse-engineered throne-shaped Phyrexian device capable of traversing time and relative dimensions in space, in other words Planeswalk. These devices were used by Phyrexia millenia earlier when trying to invade Dominaria. Because of his close proximity to the Time Rift above the Stronghold volcano, the once-capital of Rath, Venser's Spark was mutated somehow.

Teferi, another Planeswalker and once-student of Urza, was investigating the Time Rift when he and his companions Jhoira (former fellow student at Tolaria) and Radha (great-granddaughter of the warlord of the Keldon tribes during the Phyrexian Invasion) stumbled upon Venser. Seeing in Venser the same anomaly as in Radha, a mutated Spark, they recruited him on their quest to heal the Time Rifts. During this quest Venser was contacted by the voice of one Sensei Ryu, who catapulted himself back into existence by latching onto Venser's mutated Spark to regain his form as, you guessed it, Nicol Bolas. Bolas and Teferi clashed, but Bolas left when he realised the nature of the Time Rifts and went to Kamigawa. During their travels Venser grew rather attached to Jhoira, but when her crush Jodah (a descendant from the Brothers) joined up with them Venser got fed up with them and left. This proved to be a mistake: Lord Windgrace captured him, forcefully recruited him by placing a mark on him and made him return to the group. Back with them he agreed with meeting Karn in the Blind Eternities using his Ambulator, but this turned out to be a trap set by Leshrac Nightwalker to infest his mind and remove Windgrace's mark. When the real Karn appeared and joined up with Venser to close the Time Rift over Tolaria, Karn received a horrifying vision of the future and he disappeared, closing the Rift behind him.

As Venser returned he was met by Karn's apprentice and fellow Planeswalker Jeska. This was what Leshrac was waiting for: the infestation jumped from Venser to Jeska he took a hold of her mind and forced her to close the rifts above Yavimaya and Zhalfir at heavy losses (longtime-ally Multani and the continent of Zhalfir itself, to the pain of Teferi as the latter was his homeland). When the group caught up to Jeska they also encountered Nicol Bolas, at which point Leshrac revealed his master stroke. Stripping Jeska of the powers she held from her time as Phage, Leshrac attacked the Forever Serpent with the goal of taking his powers for himself and becoming the most powerful being in the multiverse. This was not a plan of his own: he was approached by the Myojin of Night's Reach, the Kamigawan spirit who brought the ancestor of the man that killed Nicol Bolas to Dominaria, to kill Bolas with the help of a powerful artifact, her mask. Leshrac almost killed Bolas until the dragon made a comeback, revealing he held the true mask of the Myojin of Night's Reach all along, imprisoned him in it and chucked the Nightwalker into the Time Rift over Madara, ending his existence. With one rift left to go and overcome by grief, Jeska cast herself into the Time Rift over her home of Otaria and closed it, ending the Time Rifts and kickstarting the Mending. This set off Venser's spark, making him the first of the fully-fledged Planeswalkers. He gave the Ambulator to Jhoira as he didn't need it anymore as a fully-fledged Planeswalker, and left to see the Multiverse.

Mirrodin
Approximately one century later (with Venser looking just the same, meaning his Spark prevented him from visually aging) Venser was approached by Elspeth Tirel and Koth of the Hammer, who were looking for aid in finding Karn. Venser showed off his new Planeshifting vessel, which made Koth flip his shit, encase Venser's head in stone and force him to Planeshift to Mirrodin. Venser was understandingly not amused, but he agreed on helping them anyway. After being captured, escaping and hiding they met the rebel leader Ezuri. He did not want to let them go initially because it would cost Ezuri his position of leadership, but after a quick lightshow by Venser he backed down.

The group followed a Myr send by Tezzeret who "gave" them Melira, a Mirran without any metal in her body and as such immune to phyresis. Returning to Ezuri Melira cured all Mirrans of their phyresis and the group left... when Tezzeret's forces attacked the now-revealed rebel camp. Elspeth pretty much killed all of them, creating piles of bodies so tall she disappeared entirely behind them. Melira was taken by Koth who thought they did not spent enough time fighting Phyrexians on the surface of Mirrodin, and after another battle Venser and Elspeth were captured by Tezzeret. Fortunately Koth had a change of heart and rescued the duo, fighting their way into Karn's throne room. Melira healed the golem as much as she could, but could not heal his heart. With his complete and irreversible infection near, Venser made the ultimate sacrifice: pumping massive amounts of mana into Karn's body, alongside his own Spark and, eventually, his life. As Karn rose Venser fell. Karn mourned his friend and savior before taking the fight to the Phyrexians, saying that he "still has a lot of work ahead of him". And no, Venser's final words were not "I don't want to go.".

Cards
Venser is, alongside Nicol Bolas, Jaya Ballard, and Karn, is one of only four characters to be represented as both a creature and a Planeswalker. Venser costs 5 mana for 3 Loyalty. He is an indirect support Planeswalker: his +2 exiles a permanent you own which returns at your next end step, which works great with cards with a "comes into play" ability (Mulldrifter comes to mind). His -1 makes all your creatures unblockable for a turn, which can be a game ender when properly played. His ultimate comes at -8 and gives you an emblem that allows you to exile a permanent whenever you play a spell. Combine this with a number of spells to pretty much win the game; though it cannot target things with (troll)shroud it can target targets with protection such as Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.

Ice Age as a term can refer to a few things:
*A time when the 1/3 of the Earth was covered in a constant winter, hence an Ice Age. The fact that 1/2 of the ground was covered in deserts does not lead to it being called Desert Age mostly because those lands weren't Europe or North America, and thus are irrelevant (fun fact: we're technically still in that Ice Age, it's just that all of human history has taken place during what's called an "Interglacial").
*A series of mediocre movies by Blue Sky Studios (a bunch of Dreamworks wannabes working for Fox) about a bunch of prehistoric creatures going on adventures. Probably the best thing the company has done, which isn't saying much.
*A two player board game where you control a bunch of humans trying to kill all the mastodons, not for food but for good old extinction. Fun fun fun.

Though most often when /tg/ uses it, it's to refer to the Magic: The Gathering block and first set in it, detailing the Ice Age caused by this dumbass after he unleashed the Golgothian Sylex to ultra-kill his Phyrexian-possessed brother, both their armies and "win" the Brothers' War. At the end of the first set the Planeswalker Freyalise casted the World Spell to thaw Dominaria, which looked like a good idea but ultimately caused bad shit to happen so people had to form Alliances (the second set) to defend themselves. Finally, ten YEARS after the release of the set (and a retcon of the spectacularly shitty Homelands as the third set in the block) they released Coldsnap, which details what exactly happened during the end of the Ice Age.

Ice Age is known for adding a couple of new mechanics but the most famous one is that of Snow Lands: Lands who give both regular mana and snow mana, which was required for certain spells and abilities. It is also the only full set/block so far that has had major Viking themes in its art and flavor, which is absolutely perplexing when you consider what the rest of fantasy is like. Also famous for being an all-around terrible set, though not as horrible as the notorious Homelands expansion. Its redeeming qualities are the introduction of the so-called "pain" lands (that offer two types of colored mana but at a cost of 1 hp on top of colorless mana) like Karplusan Forest, which were and still are widely used. And, of course, one of the if not the most bonkers black card ever - Necropotence.

"Song Dragon" can refer to two different dragon types which are split between the Forgotten Realms and Pathfinder's Cerulean Sea setting. Despite the similarities in name the two concepts are wildly different with the Forgotten Realms version having more in common with 'sirens' due to their musical nature and striking looks, and the Cerulean Sea version more akin to whales fitting into its aquatic setting.

Forgotten Realms
Native to the Forgotten Realms setting of Dungeons & Dragons, the Song Dragon, originally called the Weredragon, is a species of all-female dragons who can freely shapeshift into the form of beautiful human women.

In their natural form, these dragons are described as resembling female Copper Dragons, except that their scale color is iridescent blue and silver, although we don't know if this depicts variations or if both colors are present on the same individual. Unlike the Oerthian "Steel" Dragon, they have no characteristic tells in their human form, although they are invariably beautiful - minimum Charisma of 16 in Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. They possess potent magical abilities, and from 3rd edition onwards gained an innate affinity for the Bard class.

Song Dragons are whimsical but non-malicious and usually benevolent race, typically possessing an alignment of either Chaotic Neutral or Chaotic Good. Like Oerth Dragons, they are fascinated by mortal cultures and use their shapeshifting abilities to walk amongst demihumans. They have a particular fascination with music and storytelling, as their Bardic affinities suggest.

In AD&D, little is known about them other than this. One thing that is known is that they enjoy using their beauty to destroy men of a particularly evil or rapacious nature; they seduce and beguile such fools, sometimes going so far as to marry them, other times simply enticing them into lavishing them with wealth and expensive presents, but ultimately luring them to a secluded spot and taking up their dragon form to destroy them. This is one of the ways that the hoards of song dragons are swiftly stocked, although unusually for dragons they place far more importance on gaining the treasure to keeping it, and so readily spend their hoards on luxuries and charities. They also readily breed with both human men and male dragons whom they find appealing, although such unions only produce more Song Dragons.

Song Dragons appeared in the Monstrous Compendium Appendix Annual #3 for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and in Monsters of Faerun for Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition.

Given that they are an entire species of female dragons who take human form to dally with men, you would be pretty accurate to summarize them as being "official D&D monstergirls", just like the nymph, dryad and succubus. About the only flaw is that they canonically only have a vanilla human form or full-blown dragoness form, but hey, a quick reskin (or a Polymorph spell or the Half-Dragon Form feat if you're willing to use Eberron material) will take care of that.

5th Edition officially retcons them out of existence by stating that song dragons are just Metallic Dragons who like to spend most of their time in human form.

<gallery>
weredragon Dragon 134.png
weredragon MCAV3.jpg
</gallery>

Cerulean Sea
After the flood which saw most land submerged underwater most dragons, which were terrestrial, went extinct as well. However much like how whales are descended from land mammals, the Song Dragons in the Seas can also trace their lineage back to the land dragons, though they are very different. In general they all have some kind of sonic breath attack and some have a second breath option, are aquatic, and fill the same niche as their metallic and chromatic ancestors.

Cacophony
The Neutral evil of the song dragons, Cacophony Dragons resemble a combination of frog and a horned lizard. Like frogs, they prefer swamps to deep, open water. Also like frogs, they don't have scales; instead their thick, glutinous skin is impregnated with poison glands. Lazy creatures, they are content to just eat local wildlife, accept tribute and maybe bully other creatures if it's not to much trouble, though they do like combat even if they prefer to fight on their terms. They often act slow witted and stupid, but they're smarter then they look and manipulate their enemies.

Choral
Chaotic good, the Choral song dragons are giant turtle like creatures with dragon heads that at full size have a coral reef on the back of their shells giving additional defense. Additionally, their scales take a unique mixture of bright colors. The oldest Choral dragons are almost unnoticeable against the reef if they stay still. One can almost think of them as 'druid dragons', they are good-natured and are happy tending to the coral reefs and protecting them from evil. They think, feed, breed, speak, and anger slow, but anyone damaging the reef is attacked with the power of a hurricane. They often try to teach dragon turtles how to act like themselves, and while the dragon turtles flee because, dragon, they still think a breakthrough will happen at some point. Their breath attack is a deep brass pulse.

Crescendo
Looking like a dolphin or an ichthyosaur the Crescendo dragon are social creatures that enjoy interacting with dolphins, whales, humanoids and other dragons. Dolphin is the better point of comparison though, they travel shores line, trading gossip, knowledge, and information with anyone that will speak with them. Also like Dolphins they enjoy play, leaping through water, creating an electrical pattern, (see breath) and jumping over boats. Perhaps unsurprisingly given how they already look like dragon dolphins, they are almost always surrounded by a pod of dolphins or orcas, indeed there are even many half dragon dolphins who are the result of a Crescendo dragon breeding the pod. They will defend their pod to the death as they are looked upon and sometimes literally are kin to them and they will avenge any harm done to them. While they have only one breath attack (a cone of sound which, fun fact actual dolphins also use to hunt) they also have electrical ability. No word on if they have more negative dolphin traits such as killing porpoises for fun, but then again they are neutral, not good.

Harmony
Looking like a combination of an eastern dragon and a somewhat derpy carp or goldfish, Harmony dragons live in kelp forests, which is a good choice since old ones gain the animate kelp spell. Despite their golden scales, they doubt the idea they are descended from gold dragons and dismiss the notion. More magically powerful than physical, Harmony dragons are often sought out for advice or mystical assistance. if the cause is good, they will typically help out in some way. This works to their advantage too, while they avoid combat when they can, when a Harmony dragon is pressed, it can often get local, and often powerful, allies to help it defend itself which may be its most dangerous aspect of all. Harmony dragons have two breath attacks, one a sonic blast, the other a bubble that can trap a smaller creature.

Hush
Imagine a combination of dragon and a snaggled toothed angler fish and you have a Hush dragon, complete with glowing light to lure the weak-willed. Native to the "Abyssopelagic Zone", the literal part of the sea where the sun don't shine, it is quite thankful that they both have the vaguest understanding of the sunlit seas above them, and they simply don't care about it. In the deepest dark they eat anything that crosses their path, anything weaker then them is food, anything stronger is to be avoided. The biggest predator of a hush dragon is another bigger Hush Dragon. The only time they communicate is when they're curious about the seas above, and even then it's only before they eat their prey. They are rarely seen since, as we have established, they eat everything with a speed to rival PacMan. Like many deep-sea creatures their stomach is expandable and can take in vast schools of fish, whole parties of humanoids, and even creatures bigger than the dragon. Their breath weapon is a line of sub-audio pulses that stun.

Melody
Even Derpyer looking then the harmony dragons, Melody dragons look like a cross of lizard and Catfish, complete with barbels on the dragon like head. They live deep underwater, in the Twilight zone where sunlight can only barely penetrate the deep. They are peaceful, interested in knowledge more than combat, though with little patience for evil and will go out of their way to destroy undead or evil outsiders. Melody dragons have fine white scales that give each dragon a unique pattern of fiery bio-luminescence which sometimes forms complex symbols and runes. They are respected by good sea creatures, and enemies of evil creatures like Krakens who they will attack on sight. Rarely they attempt to lead crusades to clear vast swaths of the ocean of evil. The sonic breath of a Melody dragon paralyzes and they can do the catfish thing of opening their mouth to create a vortex to suck enemies in for some free bite attacks.

Rhythm
Eel or sea snake like (in fact they most resemble Yellow-lipped sea krait only without the yellow lips) Rhythm dragons favor cave systems and underwater caverns and can be found at any depth so long as there are caves large enough for them and their riches. While not evil per se, they are selfish and dominate the area in which they live as they enjoy controlling the actions of those around them. They're even more deadly in their underground lairs, and can never collapse their homes by accident with stray sound waves, conversely, they can easily intentionally collapse passages with a passing note. Needless to say it is best to fight them in open water. Rhythm dragons have some hypnotic ability and can use their scales to hypnotize or use their teeth to dominate. Intelligent races living near a rhythm dragon often have a member of their community blinded, to safely negotiate with the Rhythm dragon. In combat Rhythm Dragons use this to their advantage, using the blind turns and narrow corridors in their cave homes to use the hypnotic traits of their scales while they're at safe distance. Rhythm dragons only fear the undead since most of their abilities don't work on them. Their breath attack is a sonic line that 'slices'. Never mind that that's not how sound works.

Scream
With a name like "Scream" there are certain expectations, expectations that the Scream Dragon meets. Scream dragons are blood red or orange tiger shark Like Dragons. Like sharks (in popular culture), Scream dragons are endlessly hungry apex predators. Utterly ruthless, they care only for themselves and only rarely give lesser beings a chance to grant them worship, instead of devouring them in great clouds of blood. An adult scream dragon will have a territory of a thousand square miles that it patrols endlessly. Due to this large territory, they are the most often counted hostile dragon and have become greatly feared by all denizens of the Cerulean Seas. Relishing combat they will even attack (the few) creatures larger than themselves for the thrill of battle. They are not stupid though and use spells and minions to soften up dangerous foes. They are often attended by sharks, but they care not for them and scream dragons will prey on them as much as anything else when they're bored. Scream dragons have two breath weapons, the first is exactly what it says on the tin, a scream that travels in a line. The second is a cone of oily fluid that causes water to boil instantly.

Thunder
The only whale like song dragon, Thunder Dragon live in the open ocean which they see themselves as the lords of. With unsurpassed knowledge of seafloor geography and ocean islands they are highly valued, and they sell this knowledge for high prices. Arrogant, there is very little they fear. As Neutral dragons they tend to act a bit inconstantly to other sentient creatures. Some are quite benevolent, while others sink ships and plunder their wrecks. It is claimed that the shade of their scales betrays their nature; a dark shade reveling a darker temperament. The designers could not decide if they wanted filter feeding dragons or toothed dragon so they have both, with baleen they can extend or fold at will. While the baleen can filter small prey out of the water, it is also razor sharp and even if they do not go out of their way to eat intelligent beings, they won't think twice about eating beings that they defeat in battle. Thunder Dragons, like blue whales, migrate thousands of year, and so keep storehouses of treasure every few hundred miles. They spend a week or two admiring their bounty before they move on. Their breath weapon is a blast of concentrated sound that stuns creatures. Older Thunder dragons also can control the seas themselves.
Malatra is an obscure subsetting of the Forgotten Realms that was created by TSR for the online RPGA 's "Living Jungle" campaign. It is an Indochina-flavored region of Kara-Tur, set on a vast plateau that towers thousands of feet above dense jungle filled with masses of dinosaurs and obscured from the outside world by powerful protective magics.

Races
* Nubari: The humans of Malatra, actually descendants of ancient Shou colonists who interbred with the true Nubari, a spelljammer-born demihuman race that was the first to settle here. Notable Nubari tribes include the Tribe of Big Chief Bagoomba (originally the Saiyama tribe, but renamed by their egocentric new chief, notable for their racially mixed makeup), the Huroola Tribe (Amazons), the Koshiva Tribe (treetop-dwelling fisherfolk), the Rudra Tribe (aggressive riverside-dwellers), the Simbara Tribe (arrogant, lion-worshipping warriors), the Wise Ones Tribe (peaceful, shaman-led weavers) and the Zantira Tribe (fisherfolk who live on floating house-boats on the Sleepy River).
* Aarakocra
* Bullywug
* Butu: A unique native race that resembles a cross between a kobold and a satyr.
* Korobokuru
* Katanga: A local variant of the Hengeyokai, divided into Caiman, Monkey, Pangolin, Snake, Tiger, Hedgehog, Imapala and Ostrich subraces. The 3e update of the setting adds Frog Katanga as a newly emergent race being created by the Water Elemental Lord. Mention is also made of Black Leopard, Lion and Hyena katanga, with the latter in particular only appearing in the adventure "The Golden Child".
* Lacerial: A local name for Saurials.
* Lizardfolk
* Oscray: A local name for a stranded population of Scro.
* Sahuagin: A local variety adapted to fresh water.
* Saru: Peaceful, friendly, intelligent gorillas.
* Shu: A local Halfling subrace, characterized by its utter hairlessness.
* Tabaxi
* Tam'hi: A local variant of the Spirit Folk, divided into Jungle and River subraces.
* Tasloi
* Vegepgymy: Locally known as "Plantmen".
* Wemic
