The Armored Reconnaissance Platoon is a unit available in Flames of War to the Soviets. It is centered around the BA-10 Armored car.

==IRL==
The BA-10 was functionally a truck that had sloped armor and a turret mounted to the flatbed. This made it far better than early variants of the BA family of Armored cars. It was also given 2 DT 7.62mm machine guns in the off chance it actually had to fight infantry. The cannon mounted on top was a whopping 45mm, far heavier than the M8 or 222.

The BA-10 first saw service in Khalin Gol, where it wiped out Japanese tanks on relatively even terms, due to the sloped armor and rather large cannon. It continued service in the Red Army until 1943, mostly because by that time the Germans had decided to start a Tank arms race by shitting out barely functional metal behemoths, and the BA-10 was generally just obsolete.
