'''Blue-Eyes White Dragon''' is both the name of the titular monster card and the name of the [[Yu-Gi-Oh#Archetype|archetype]] built around it. BEWD, (as it is shortened) is one of the oldest Yugioh monsters, it first appeared in Starter Box: Theatrical Release to celebrate the release of the first Yugioh movie by Toei. With a long history, Blue Eyes exists as a mascot of the franchise and as an instantly recognizable staple in the TCG.

At 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF, BEWD was the OG beatstick, quite capable of taking on the damn near the rest of the card games roster and coming out without a scratch. Even today, you won't find too many non-boss effect monsters capable of taking it on 1v1, without support at least. A BEWD summoned with no support is dead as any other boss monster, with nothing to negate spell effects nor trap effects plus, there are quite a few dragon-focused killing cards that can make your life hell.
