Valmir von Raukov is the <strike>Elector Count of Ostland</strike> Grand Prince of Ostland, Margrave of the Northern March and Hammer of the East. Did a great job in revealing the Tzeenchite tricky nature of previous count, Maximillian von Konigswald, after which was promoted from regular baron to Elector Count. Looks suspiciously similar to his northern Ungol and Gospodar neighbours. Warmonger like other Northern counts, but not really interesting one. With exception he has a powerful Dragon Bow he found in some elven ruins.

Had a rough time in 6th edition's storm of Chaos what with Wolfenburg falling to the enemy with him still in it (see the Novel Magestorm). Luckily his grizzley death/heroic escape was retconned along with that whole event.

8th edition gave him a newly fleshed out eldest son in the Big Red Book, who lasted about 20 pages until he was killed off by a very pissed off Norscan armed with a 2+ ward save and a genocide to avenge.
Powerful, terrifying, and ferocious, Abyssal Terrors serve as the mount of choice of many a Vampire Lord or sufficiently powerful Necromancer Lord.

Not to be confused with a Dread Abyssal which is what Manfred, Arkhan and Nefferata ride in End Times/AoS.

Previously referred to as a winged nightmare, which confused people as a nightmare was horse sized rather than griffon sized.
Beastmen special character notable for being a noteworthy ungor (and having 2 heads). Killed and scalped the horns off his tribes chief and shaman. It's unclear how seriously to take him as a social revolutionary given the beastmen are anti society already.

Showed up in the End Times in 'of Ice and Snow' as middle management for the villain, a chaos warrior leading beastmen as a punishment.

Part of the 7th edition trend of making hero characters into unit upgrades. Never had an official model but an easier conversion than some of his Beastman peers.
Eventually found themselves defending Middenheim during the End Times (in the Novel).
Forge world regiment of renown introduced in Tamurkhan: the Throne of Chaos. Marrienburg based regiment.
Eventually they were among the defenders of Middenheim in the End Times (in the novel).

One of the 2 forge world kits released without arms, for those you were expected to get the corresponding state trooper set. Luckily you had swordsmen arms left over from building your 40 strong horde of halbadiers.
Aekold Helbrass was a Chaos Champion of Tzeentch introduced in the 4th edition of Warhammer Fantasy, and was then promptly forgotten (getting a mention on the map in the 8th edition Warriors of Chaos army book but not appearing until The End Times).

What separated him from other champions and lords of Tzeentch, was that he wasn't a wizard, and his special ability given to him by Tzeentch: the Breath of Life. See, wherever Aekold wandered, he would make the land spring into life, as grass and flowers would grow around the area he walked. This ability also allowed him to heal those in the threshold of death (presumably annoying Nurgle greatly), and make wooden objects start taking root again.

He fell during the End Times, dying in battle against Felix Jaeger. Before this though, he appeared to have been the main catalyst for the destruction of Kislev. He lost control of Praag to Throgg bylut went on to win the battles of the Lesser Tobol and at Kislev City. Finally he went on to use his breath of life powers to breach the Auric Bastion with ease (turned a Slaneshi sorcerer into a beanstalk) and his army seemed to win the subsequent battle of the 3 sisters. However, during the fighting, some dwarfs exploded him inadvertently while emerging from a tunnel just as he wa he was beating Felix Jaeger.

The way the dwarfs and Kislevites refer to him in Kinslayer, you would think he was the everchosen or a top lieutenant, not a character returning from the narrative wilderness.
