}}
One of the successor chapters of the Blood Angels from the Second Founding, the Blood Drinkers are a proud chapter that conceals a dark secret that may yet damn them.

Like all their parent and sibling chapters, the Cum Drinkers suffer from the twin curses of the Red Thirst and the Black Rage. But unlike their fellow Blood Angels successor chapters, they have learned to embrace the Thirst and make it part of their way of life and traditions. Literally, they have gone full vampire, and like vampires they drink lots of blood to control their cravings.

Few, if any, are aware of the feasts where the chapter's Marines gather to drink vast amounts of blood to sate their thirst, and the Blood Drinkers go to great lengths to keep their shame a secret. Operating out of the planet San Guisaga (Okay, now GeeDubs isn't even trying - sanguisuga is Latin for "leech"), they fight to master their corrupt flesh and to prove themselves equal to their brothers in battle.

At first, the Blood Drinkers were hit harder by the Black Rage than any other Blood Angels successor chapter, but were saved after a battle-brother by the name of Holos was instructed in a dream to climb to the top of a mountain where he supposedly met an angel who promised to teach him a blood-drinking ritual that would stabilize the Black Rage. The Blood Drinkers must be offered blood willingly by their serfs, and must also sacrifice an unwilling human on an altar, allowing the blood to mix into a big pool before slurping it up like dogs at a bowl. Unknown to the rest of the Chapter, this "angel" was actually Kairos Fateweaver, and the ritual came with quite a few strings attached.

Because of this, Black Raging Blood Drinkers have about a 1% chance to relive Captain Holos' big climb up the mountain instead of Sanguinius' battle with Horus. At the end of the climb they meet The Fateweaver: Mr. Weaver gives Holos' instructions on how to do the blood feast ritual stuff mentioned above, and then he "tempts" the Black Raging Marine with a choice: Accept Tzeentch's blessings and damn the Blood Drinkers for eternity, or just re-engage their Black Rage and rot away in the Death Company as the rest of the chapter continues with their heretical rituals. None have accepted his offer yet, but Tzeentch isn't in any hurry. The chapter's entire Reclusiam is in on the heresy, which is why their Chaplains are always egging them on to bloodier and bloodier battles; perhaps trying to destroy their own Chapter in this way before some Marine is too weak-spirited and screws them all.

Geez, and people give the Dark Angels shit about being closet heretics.

In perhaps a "win" of sorts for a Chapter trying so hard to sacrifice themselves in battle, the Blood Drinkers were almost entirely wiped out during the calamitous Devastation of Baal.

Rick Priestley, a deceitful name as he was never ordained but is also known as "Based Priestly" on /tg/, was once an employee of Games Workshop early on in its history. He wrote the early storyline for both Warhammers, and as such is considered their creator; the genesis of Fantasy was his take on generic fantasy settings given a touch more grounding, and 40k began with an existing setting idea of his combined with the themes of Paradise Lost. He was one of the designers of the actual rules of Warhammer Fantasy Battle along with Bryan Ansell and Richard Hailliwell, and also designed WFB's large-scale counterpart called Warmaster. Rogue Trader was developed as a retooling of a boxed game he had created which had been largely unsuccessful. By July 1997, he and Andy Jones and Marc Gascoigne had developed the idea of the Black Library, Games Workshop's publishing arm, and the Inferno! magazine dedicated to their Specialist Games line. The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game was his last GW game, designed to steer the company back in his preferred design direction.

He left GW in 2010, ostensibly due to a change in corporate culture (read: GW caring more about fleecing their playerbase than making fun games). Since then he has worked with Warlord Games on Bolt Action, Hail Caesar, Black Powder and Beyond the Gates of Antares alongside other former GW game designers. His legacy is generally well-regarded by most players, even if some of his later ideas got pretty weird.

He recently released the fantasy wargame Warlords of Erehwon, which is loosely based on the rules in Bolt Action and Gates of Antares, and is great.
