==In Team Yankee== [[File:TFBX05-14.jpg|left|300px|thumb|Les Stats Monsieur]] God damn! At 7 points for a 3 tank platoon or 9 points for 4, you get a vehicle with the firepower of a main battle tank and the armour of a damp baguette. This is a very odd unit to discuss, as it serves two completely different roles: recon and fighting. When used for fighting, the AMX-10 RC can engage all but the heaviest (read: NATO) tanks. Laser Rangefinder and HEAT ensure that you do not need to close in to punch through tanks, while ''Brutal'' allows your armored cars to destroy infantry rather reliably. When used for recon, you are paying 7-9 points for a very lightly armored, and VERY dangerous unit. What this means is that your opponent has a very good reason to kill this first if they do not want 6-8 AT19 ''Brutal'' shots the next turn, and therefore an instant kill point. However, the AMX-10 RC does have scout so try your best to have these units break line of sight immediately: you do not want to lose such an expensive platoon instantly, and 3+ skill ensures that you can get back into the action by turn 2 (probably). As mentioned earlier, the AMX-10 RC excels at fighting from range, against PACT vehicles lacking laser rangefinders (apart from Russian T-64s and T-72s). Do not use the AMX-10 RC at close range; the laser rangefinder and HEAT rulings are there to help your guns function just as well beyond 16 inches while your opponents' units don't: a pretty important detail when hit by autocannons or machine guns. Compared to the AMX-30 MBT, you have a discount of 1 point per platoon. Armour is the biggest tradeoff; your AMX-10 RCs have frontal 2 and side 1 but top armour 0, meaning that they will suffer against BTRs and M113-equivalent machine guns and die almost instantly against autocannons. Note that AMX-30s have a profile of frontal 11 side 4 and top 1: they will shrug off autocannon shots from the front, but do not even have bazooka skirts (WHICH ARE CLEARLY ON THE MODEL, BATTLEFRONT!) and will die against the lightest of side shots by LAWs and RPG-18s. Your main gun has HEAT, unlike the AMX-30's. A cavalry squadron (Escadron de Cavalerie) requires 2 AMX-10RC platoons, and a VAB HQ for 1 point. The HQ can join your AMX-10RCs for 2+ skill and 4+ morale if needed. Your ONLY other company option is a third AMX-10RC platoon, or up to two VAB infantry platoons. A strange unit that outguns the MBT of the French Army and fails at being a recon unit. Fragile and slow, but absolutely deadly when spammed and played correctly. Makes for a relatively cheap and impactful allied formation, being far and away one of the best models for supplementing armoured lists in all of NATO.
