==Tabletop== ===7th=== {| class=wikitable ! || M || WS || BS || S || T || W || I || A || Ld |- | Chakax: || 4 || 5 || 0 || 5 || 5 || 2 || 3 || 4 || 8 |} Chakax rules make him an improved Temple Guard (which makes sense since that's what he is fluff wise) and is pretty much designed to lead units of Temple Guards while they protect a Slann. He has a 4+ Scaly Skin armour save and the same Sacred Duty rule as other Temple Guard meaning he must be attached to a Slann and he can't leave the Slanns unit, and gains Immune to psychology and Stubborn when attached to the Slann. He also comes with Ultimate Bodyguard which means he MUST issue and accept challenges and while in a challenge he can re-roll failed hit rolls and any Temple Guards in the same unit as him gain Unbreakable and re-roll look out sir rolls as long as Chakax and the Slann they are guarding is alive. His equipment decent with the Star-stone Mace forcing a model that has been hit by it to reveal its Magical Items, and the Helm of the Prime Guardian means all Hidden units must reveal themselves when they are within 20" of Chakax. However his final item The key to the Eternity Chamber is his best as it grants him a 5+ Ward Save and in a challenge and any enemy that tries to hit him automatically strikes last, ignoring and overriding any rules that improves their initiative or lets them strike first, meaning Chakaxs' slow Lizardman initiative isn't a problem in challenges. He's generally decent against low to mid generic hero's and lords, but will probably fall apart against a full kitted out Chaos kill Lord and his WS is just average and will be matched by most characters (and is surpassed by plenty as well). But his biggest drawback is his price. He costs 335 points which is really expensive and not really worth it in most cases. ===8th=== {| class=wikitable ! || M || WS || BS || S || T || W || I || A || Ld |- | Chakax: || 4 || 5 || 0 || 5 || 5 || 2 || 3 || 4 || 8 |} For 8th edition Chakax got a point decrease down to 270 points, which is still a bit expensive but most of his equipment actually go buffed to make him nearly worth spending the points on him. The Star-stone Mace is now a Great Weapon so increases increases his Strength by +2 but means he has Always strikes last which sucks but he's already a slow Lizard so not something to cry about. However it's gimmick of revealing magical items has now been improved since when you hit a model with any Magical items (he just has to hit them, not wound them), on a roll of 5+ one of the magical items is destroyed and can't be used anymore which means he can reduce the effectiveness of some characters like Empire Generals with a Runefang or a Chaos lord with a Magical sword. The Helm of the Prime Guardian still reveals hidden models that are 20" away but it also increases his armour save by one, which added to his +5 Scaly Skin and Light Armour means he now has a 3+ armour save. The key to the Eternity Chamber is unchanged but since the Star-stone Mace now inflicts Always strike last it means Chakax will strike at the same time as the model he is in a challenge with. Special Rules wise Eternity Warden means he must accept and issue challenges if he is able to and he gets to re-roll failed hit rolls and Ultimate Bodyguard gives a unit of Temple Guard he is attached to Unbreakable, as long as he and a Slann are part of the same unit. He has both the Lizardmen army rules Cold Blooded and Predatory Fighters along with the Temple Guard rule Guardians meaning he auto-passes Look out sir when taking a bullet for the Slann but he no longer has the other Templar Guard rule Sacred Duty. Over all he's a better pick for your hero slot in 8th than he was in 7th, but he will still struggle against high WS models and unless your armies victory is reliant on a Slann Mage Priest surviving to the end of the game he's probably best left at home for most games.
