:::Insectoid anatomy prevents diopsids from using magical boots, slippers, shoes, gauntlets, gloves, helmets, robes, belts or girdles. Optionally, a Giant-sized belt/girdle can be worn, but this will prevent the diopsid from using its wings.
:::Despite its anatomy, a diopsid has no inherent ability to climb on walls or ceilings.

Diopsids are known to fashion shields from the wingcases of their dead. A diopsid carapace shield improves AC by 1 point against melee attacks and by 2 points against missile attacks.
