==AD&D PC Stats== ::Ability Score Minimum/Maximum: Strength 8/19, Dexterity 6/18, Constitution 6/18, Intelligence 3/18, Wisdom 3/18, Charisma 3/17 ::Ability Score Adjustments: +1 Strength, -1 Charisma ::Racial Class & Level Limits: [[Fighter]] 12, [[Druid]] 6 (Gray Druid only), [[Shaman]] 9, [[Thief]] 12, Fighter/Thief 12/12 :::Racial Thieving Score Adjustments: +5% Pick Pockets, +10% Detect Noise, -15% Read Languages ::Natural Armor Class: 4 ::Special Advantages: :::Infravision 120 feet :::Has four functional arms, allowing it to use two weapons and a shield in one round without penalty. :::Can make 2 claw attacks (1d3 damage) per round if forced to fight unarmed. :::Buzzing wings allow a diopsid to ignore falling damage, akin to a Feather Fall spell. ::Special Disadvantages :::Cannot wear armor but can use shields and magical rings, amulets and other such items to boost AC. :::Insectoid anatomy prevents diopsids from using magical boots, slippers, shoes, gauntlets, gloves, helmets, robes, belts or girdles. Optionally, a Giant-sized belt/girdle can be worn, but this will prevent the diopsid from using its wings. :::Despite its anatomy, a diopsid has no inherent ability to climb on walls or ceilings. :::+4 penalty to reaction rolls. :::Must consume twice as much food per day as a normal human, suffering -1 Str and Con per missed meal. :::Take damage as per a large creature. Diopsids are known to fashion shields from the wingcases of their dead. A diopsid carapace shield improves AC by 1 point against melee attacks and by 2 points against missile attacks.
