==Historical Fantasy Hel== As in Norse lore, Hel has a half of a beautiful face, with a rotting corpse as the other half of her body. Such a terrible sight can strike fear in even the bravest of warriors. Sometimes, Hel sends an avatar to Midgard as a dark-skinned woman, who recovers a man whom Hel favours and takes him to Niflheim. One kiss from her will cause instant death. The goddess herself is cruel and merciless, rarely smiling except in mocking cruelty. She can heal very quickly, and anything that she touches with her hand or blades dies instantly. If someone manages to kill her, she will return to life in a few days. Hel is also a master in necromancy. Such is the fear of Hel and the death that she brings, that she only has a few worshippers in the mortal plane. Those tends to be people seeking vengeance, and an assassin order made of women. Her priestesses tend to be cremators of the deceased. clear
