==Career==
Julie Guthrie began creating miniatures in the late 70's for [[Grenadier Miniatures]], which produced some of the first miniatures designed to work with modern fantasy tabletop games, particularly [[Dungeons & Dragons]]. After obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1982 she went into sculpting as a full-time career for both Genadier and [[Ral Partha]]. In 1994 she received recognition in the [[Origins Hall of Fame]], the organization which recognizes contribution to tabletop gaming culture. 

She continued working through the years for various companies, never staying associated with a single company. [[Alderac Entertainment Group]], [[Iron Wind Metals]], [[TA-HR]], and [[Perrin Miniatures]] have also carried her products. She even sculpted the limited edition figures for the special release of [[Everquest]] for Sony Online Entertainment. 

Although her older models are now carried by various companies who have purchased the rights to the molds, particularly [http://www.turnkeyminiatures.com/ Mega Miniatures], most of her current work is for [[Reaper Miniatures]] which carries an extensive catalogue of her miniatures (255 and counting as of the creation of thir article) which can be found [https://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Julie%20Guthrie here]. Of course her older and original models are frequently swapped online, such as her limited (and now fairly valuable) [[Elfquest]] miniatures. 

Julie's miniatures remain the stereotypical tabletop roleplaying game miniatures in the public consciousness, and were featured in the hit Netflix show Stranger Things (although the all-important Demogorgon miniature itself was not one of hers, many of the other miniatures seen in the hands of the main cast were).
