==Meta Perspective==
For years, before Warhammer Fantasy was effectively squatted by Age of Sigmar, there was constant speculation the Menfish would return, hinted at by minor mentions in lore. The idea of an aquatic faction was later picked up in Age of Sigmar, but instead of Menfish it was blind, weak-souled, emo, sea elf, Dark Eldar wannabes called Idoneth Deepkin. However, Age of Sigmar has made mention of three unseen aquatic races who fear or have warred with the Idoneth: the Kelpdar, the Merwynn, and the Abholon/Chasm-Dwellers. So it's possible one of them is a modern take on Menfish. Further, with The Old World returning, maybe the Menfish will make an appearance? They also appeared in early Warhammer 40K as background aliens, two named Sl'harsh and Pl'lodar, along with a prototype Wulfen.

Recently, the Menfish, under the name of The Fish Folk, have been referenced as being relatives of a race of Ursula-like octo-mer-Elves called the Merkaveth in Ghur. So they still exist in Age of Sigmar.
