==D&D Rabbitfolk== In March 2021, appropriately enough, rabbitfolk became a semi-official race for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. The Unearthed Arcana article "Folk of the Feywild" introduced rabbitfolk to the Great Wheel as a pseudo-fey race spiritually connected to freedom, travel and luck. Unfortunately, we don't know if they'll ever become official, but hey, at least there's a semi-official starting point for anybody who wants to homebrew their own bunnyfolk, right? This is their official lore and stats: ::Bounding across the wilds, rabbitfolk from the Feywild embody a spirit of freedom and travel. Rabbitfolk are bipedal, with the characteristic long feet of the animal they resemble and fur in a variety of colors. They share the keen senses and powerful legs of leporine creatures and are full of energy, like a wound-up spring. Rabbitfolk are blessed with a little fey luck, and they often find themselves a few fortunate feet away from dangers during adventures. ::Ability Score Modifier: +2 to one ability score of your choice and +1 to a second ability score of your choice, or +1 to three different ability scores of your choice ::Creature Type: Humanoid ::Size: Medium or Small (choose at character creation) ::Speed: 30 feet ::Hare-Trigger: Add your Proficiency bonus to Initiative rolls. ::Leporine Senses: Proficiency in Perception. ::Lucky Footwork: If you fail a Dexterity save, you can use your Reaction to roll a d4 and add the result to your saving throw, which can change it into a success. ::Rabbit Hop: Once during each of your turns when you walk at least 5 feet, you can hop, rolling a d12 and moving that many feet in a direction of your choice. This extra distance doesn’t cost movement, but you can hop only if your speed isn’t 0. These rabbitfolk got a fair bit of critique, largely because of how erratic and borderline useless their "Rabbit Hop" feature is. The September 2021 adventure "The Wild Beyond the Witchlight" introduced the first ever official rabbitfolk race for D&D, now renamed the Harengon. According the early reviews of the book, WotC did listen to the criticisms fixed how the Rabbit Hop ability works.
