In Dungeons and Dragons, Thor is venerated by the sea-dwelling omm-wa as ''Dugong''. The primitive Neathar tribes depict him in the fur-skins of their warriors and refer him as ''Donar'', and the Antalian tribes and Icevale elves also use that same name. The Robrenn worship him as ''Tuatis''.

He is the state deity of the kingdom of Ostland.

Characters who worship Thor tend to value physical strength and endurance against difficulty, and especially defeating an enemy without any assistance. They also believe that violence is a necessary aspect of life, like the storms in the sky. His worshippers are not just warriors, but also commoners, especially among dwarves and half-orcs. His worshippers are more courageous, but also more reckless and less cautious.

Half-orcs, hated in many societies, tend to become more welcome as clergy of Thor. They and many other priests always wear armour.
