==Why Play High Elves== Because you like Elves. And winning. High Elves win a lot. They have a BRUTAL magic phase (which, if used properly, can effectively offset their few weaknesses), powerful infantry choices, a variety of savage monstrous mounts, some of the best named wizards in the game, crazy magic items, good movement and one of the best archer units in the game. Oh and did we mention that they have Always Strikes First, to a man, which, combined with their high Initiative, means you are essentially always getting re-rolls against most armies? Let's also not forget the fighting in extra ranks. Between the extra ranks of attacks and the re-rolling misses, this army is designed to land lots of hits in close combat. Don't think they're a cinch to play though, they're not THAT [[Warhammer/Tactics/Daemons of Chaos| overpowered]] (unless you use High magic or Life magic). Their one weakness is low Toughness, light armour and high cost units means that they have to be played well. But if you play them properly you will utterly destroy the competition. An army for people who like gorgeous models and want to play a tactically fulfilling army without being hideously underpowered. Or for a player that likes to spam magic and block everything with ward saves (remember when we said magic could offset their one weakness?). An army, in short, for the exact kind of people who like Warhammer Fantasy.
