====Red Hulk==== General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross was always one of the Hulk's greatest threats, constantly leveraging the armed forces in order to capture the Hulk if not outright destroy him. Not helping things was the fact that he never really liked Bruce either, never approving of his daughter Betty's relationship with the pasty scientist and had actually set her up with a Major he was grooming to be a successor. Of course, despite being an aging man, he had a lot of power and influence, including helping fund the creation of Hulkbusters, oversized battlesuits with the strength to take on the green monster. As the years wore on, there had been plenty of cases where the Hulk managed to retain his intelligence and got pardoned for his crimes by an awfully-forgiving government only to revert back as a result from some freak circumstance. While Ross never relented in his grudge/restrained respect, it would eventually come to an end when Hulk got shot into another planet by some of the smartest men in the entire setting - this was the straw that broke the camel's back, as with no Hulk to fight against and the (supposed) death of his daughter, he became an utter wreck. With the help of some of the Hulk's other enemies, they helped stage a plan for Hulk's big revenge trip to Earth that siphoned enough of his power (and his blood) and transfer it into Ross - The General then became a Red Hulk with the ability to emit radioactive flames and full control of his transformations. He's since become something of a switch player between his ties to the government and his ability to disregard authority in pursuit of his bigger goals. <!-- May, 1962 -->
