== Servers ==
These are the servers that fa/tg/uys like the most. Others exist, but many of them are considerably more awful than the major ones because of cross-contamination with the terminally cancerous BYOND community, being dedicated to 18+ [[Furry]] ERP full of creeps yiffing, or having awful admins that let their favorites run free while gibbing anyone who calls them out on their shite.

; TGstation
Despite the name, it's got less crossover with the actual board than you might expect due to the Ssethtide and its associated flood of newbies who don't know what a /tg/ is. [[Skub|Prone to skubby decisions like removing cloning (otherwise a staple of most servers) and allowing some rounds to become validhunting hell]]; in exchange, it features a lot of crazy shit you won't find elsewhere, like the ability to surgically implant bombs in someone's groin or to drive around the station in a giant stompy death machine.

; Baystation 12
Formerly the base for the Bay12 Forum's SS13 fans (of [[Dwarf Fortress]] fame); the Bay12 forums later founded another server. Much more of a slow-burner than /tg/ or Goon's batshit insane plasmaflooding traitor rampages, with an emphasis on good roleplay and storytelling over setting the world on fire. Somewhat infamous for [[skub|having extremely long rounds where HRP is the norm and stepping out of your role risks a boinking]], but compensates with its expansive lore and exploration system.

; Goonstation 
LRP to MRP focused, with a relatively simplified set of controls and greatly improved chemistry, medical/surgery, and robotics systems next to other servers, as well as the whole "secret chemicals" system for the super-nerds who want a challenge. They also got rid of the coding and balance nightmare that was Virology, to much rejoicing. Generally very welcoming to newbies and has significantly less asshole admins, making it a good way to get into SS13 if you're just starting out. Notably went open-source in the last couple of years, so you can look at, download, and customize your copy of the code.

That said, a lot of their [[Neckbeard|greybeards]] really fucking hate /tg/ due to coming from [[4chan]]'s age-old relative [[Something Awful]], while their younger members generally range from "Who cares?" to full-force [[SJW]]s; Their rules can also get restrictive in a few areas, with absolute prohibitions on sexual content and "bigotry" (definitions are definite skub) in or out of character. 

As good rule of thumb: if it's popular on /tg/ (validhunting, sexual humor, calling someone a newfag, trap, or ligger), it's verboten on Goon and the admins will ban your ass for it.
