===Total War Saga: Troy=== Taking place during the semi-historical Trojan War in late Bronze Age. They take a "truth in the myth" approach to the legends, which means no minotaurs but instead a huge hairy man wearing an oxen skull and a bronze axe. Needless to say, this has led to some amount of debate. Larger-than-life heroes like Ulysses, Hector and Achilles can duel each other a la Three Kingdoms, though with less restrictions. Gameplay-wise, the game is very divisive. It's generally agreed to have a very good campaign; with tonnes of unique systems, such as a resource system that is much more hands-on than the previous gold-only system, interesting faction diversity between the three cultural groups (including by far the best horde campaign experience ever in the series with Penthesilea), a favor of the gods system which had Warhammer's Chaos and Norsca players salivating for it, some amazing atmosphere thanks to the surreal Greek-styled artistry of the campaign map, and actually some of the best designed battle maps in the series. On the other hand, the game was really buggy, has very hit or miss battle-gameplay (overpowered chariots almost ruined it on release though they were nerfed, and infantry can disengage from combat much easier...at the cost of them being able to actually move through enemy units while in combat with them) with some baffling decisions in regards to the aforementioned Myth vs. Reality (Minotaurs are singular guys wearing cow skulls...that still kill the shit out of people like they're Warhammer's Legendary Lords). In July 2021, CA announced the Mythos DLC/expansion, which would add two new modes (a more realistic one that would remove mythical elements entirely, and a Mythos one that would instead play Total War: Greek Age of Mythology edition, such as turning Minotaurs into actual bipedal-bulls minotaurs or giving you charges of god powers as you get the gods to favor you).
