===XVI Legion: [[Luna Wolves]]/[[Sons of Horus]]=== * Warlords : Garviel Loken, Abbadon, Tybalt Marr, Horus. Horus's Heretical Honchos, and the first deck you get with Loken as its center Warlord. A jack of all trades faction with a focus on drop pods, direct damage, and card draw, with a smattering of Chaos synergy on the side. All of their warlords' abilities do direct damage, draw a card, or both. They certainly aren't bad but power-creep has very much come into play, and their lack of a unique play dynamic can leave them sidelined. They recieved a minor retool to give them more Chaos synergy, buffing several key troops, and creating more focus on doing massive burst damage. The LTGB update puts emphasis on the Chaos synergy, providing more incentives to generate Chaos Marks and with additional troops to take advantage of it. '''Shadow of the Warmaster Update''' * Warlords : Horus Aximand, Ezekiel Abbadon, Horus Lupercal. The first of the Legions to be re-released, with original card set being phased out of competitive play (although you can still play any card set in Legacy matchups). The Sons of Horus are a crystallization of their prior iterations. The Warlords from previous sets have also been changed. They have the Chaos Mark focus of their most recent iteration, along with drop pod, card draw, and damage synergies of their very first release. However, they also gain more abilities to gain and give Chaos Marks, and more ability to confer drop pod (along with boosting their health). They also FINALLY gain a unique keyword, Speartip, which confers a powerful bonus if the card with it is played first in a turn. Opinions of the new game setup aside, the Sons are now considered to be rather overpowered, which will likely change with balancing and the further releases of the other Shadow of the Warmaster Legions.
