===Warhammer Age of Sigmar=== The End Times happened and all of the elves of the world-that-was died and their souls were eaten by Slaanesh. And since Slaanesh is the god of excess he/she/it ate so many of these tasty elven souls that he became fat and slow. The new elven gods used this weakness to capture Slaanesh and punch it until elf souls come out. Just As Planned. Games Workshop used this as an excuse to add more elves (or as they're now known, Aelfs) than ever before. * Azyrites: The closest thing to the old world elfs. They are descendants of those elves that survived the End Times and managed to flee to Azyr before Sigmar sealed the Realm Gates. In game terms, these are all the aelf factions that haven't got an update yet. * Sylvaneth: The first faction to be reimagined for Age of Sigmar and the furthest removed from the elven race. Allarielle saved the souls of "ancient protectors" (most likely Asrai from Athel Loren) and gave them a new form as half-tree-spirit/half-elf Tree-Revenants. * Daughters of Khaine: Morathis personal army is made of two kinds of Aelfs. The 'normal' Sisterhood of Blood made of crazed khaine cultists similar to the other Azyrite factions. And the Scáthborn, Aelfs formed from the souls reclaimed from Slaanesh. These include the snake-like Melusai and the winged Khinerai. * Idoneth Deepkin: Teclis first, failed attempt to remake the elven race. * Light and Shadow Aelfs: The Lumineth Realm Lords created by Tyrion and the yet to be revealed aelves of Malerion.
