===The Ex (part 1)=== It is an unpleasant reality in relationships that there comes a point in time when you may have to deal with each other's ex. It is even more unpleasant when these encounters turn ugly. Such was my encounter with Krieger Female Model 68b #6345's ex boyfriend. One day I was surprised to walk out my front door to find a man, dressed in standard issue Krieger combat gear, standing outside my door on the other side of the trench surrounding the porch. I asked him who he was and he flashed me his identification tags, "Krieger Male Model 47d #0454." I went back inside and told Krieger Female Model 68b #6345 about the man standing outside and asked her if she knew who it was. She gave me a slight nod in the affirmative and then walked into the den, pulled a file off my desk and handed it to me, opened it up and pointed to a line partway down a page. The file was apparently her personnel file (which I should really get around to reading someday) and the line she pointed to read, "Previous Relationship: Krieger Male Model 47d #0454." I looked up to ask Krieger Female Model 68b #6345 what she thought he was doing here and noticed that she was gone. When I went outside to look for her she was standing on the porch, flanked on both sides by our dogs Rogal and Russ. The dogs were sitting down, their ears alert, and their eyes focused on Krieger Male Model 47d #0454. Krieger Female Model 68b #6345 was standing at attention, though I could tell her body was unnaturally tense, even for her. I asked her point blank if she wanted him to go. She again nodded in the affirmative. I proceeded to walk over to Krieger Male Model 47d #0454 and told him in no uncertain terms to leave. He didn't respond and when I got closer to him, he hit me in the chest with the butt of his lasgun. This would not stand. I had been assaulted on my property in front of my girlfriend by a man who was not welcomed. I had to answer. After thinking for a second I had an idea. I needed to deal with him in a way he would understand, asking him to leave would not work. I told him to wait there and went back inside. I went to my closet and brought out a black trench coat I had bought to where over a suit in cold weather, I also dug around in the back and pulled out a brown leather brimmed hat (I still am not sure why I got this, I must have thought it looked cool at some point.), and finally I grabbed the ridiculously large handgun that Krieger Female Model 68b #6345 had given me for my birthday. With my rather odd outfit on I march out my front door, put my hand on the holstered gun, and got right up in Krieger Male Model 47d #0454's face. "Soldier, what do you think you are doing here? You have accessed an area that is restricted to you, disrupted the duties of a fellow soldier, you are away from your assigned unit without evidence of proper authorization, and you assaulted an officer! I order you to leave the premises right now, report your transgression to your superior officer, and never come back!" I then stared him down, trying my best to look intimidating while looking utterly ridiculous. He starred at me for a second and I saw him tightening his grip on his lasgun. I had failed and now he was going to kill me. There was nothing I could do. The strap that goes over the butt of the pistol holstered at my side was still buttoned, the safety was still on, and even though I had loaded the gun I hadn't chambered a round. His gun was already in his hands, ready to aim and fire. I was then rather surprised when he drew the gun to his shoulder and gave me a rifle salute, pivoted 180, and walked away. Rogal and Russ left Krieger Female Model 68b #6345's side on the porch and followed him out to the end of the property. I suppose they were escorting him out. They then ran back to Krieger Female Model 68b #6345 who opened the door and let them back inside. She looked at me for a few moments with that familiar blank stare, nodded enthusiastically, and went back inside. I stood outside for a bit contemplating what happened. Fear of imminent death aside, I think I handled it well. I then became a bit self conscious standing outside in a trench coat, large hat, with my hand on a large gun. I suppose given who I live with and the fact that my property is lined with barbed wire and trenches I shouldn't have been to bothered, but I decided that I was for the best that I go inside and change.
