The game hasn't had an update since 2019, the playercount has dipped down to the double digit mark consistently and barely any hours have been put into the game by said players, atleast according to steamdb.info data as of March 2021. The security certificate for EC's website also hasn't been renewed June 2020, which means even the most basic of upkeeps have been foregone by management.

Its safe to say that any hope of Eternal Crusade ever rising up from the ashes is gone, its now nothing more than a shambling Nurglite abomination waiting what seems like eons for someone to finally put end to their eternal misery - the developers answered its prayer in June 2021, announcing the game will be shutting down for good in September.
