'''Personal''': A fighter pilot from the lands of Fuso, Amaterasu Sugino was originally one of eight orphaned Shrine Maidens of the Kasuga Shrine in Nara. Brought up with a strong belief in Shintoism, Ama was destined to become one of the protectors of the shrine only for her awakening to magic changing her fate entirely. Although knowledge of Witches is quite predominant in the world many visitors to the shrine and worshipers believe Amaterasu's abilities to be a blessing from their deities.<br>
Eventually when the Fuso military contacted the shrine upon hearing of the rumored mystical abilities they found a surprisingly willing and able young girl who was more than ready to take flight into the skies for the sake of her country. Training the girl proved to be quite simple, the physical training she had undertaken in defense of Kasuga Shrine mirrored well with military training and as such she proved to be an incredibly sufficient martial arts practitioner mostly focusing on unarmed strikes, joint locks and Naginatas.<br>
Amaterasu was assigned to the 215th Kaiyo Combined Arms Fighter Wing, 6th Fuso Fighter Division, on board the escort carrier Kaiyo off the coast of Hispania, as auxiliary support to a mixed fighter wing consisting of both Witches and normal fighter pilots. Her role on board the Kaiyo was mostly a minor one, with only a few Neuroi engagements until Fuso decided that Amaterasu was the ideal poster girl to promote recruitment into their air force. She was reassigned to the 16th Fuso Homeland Defense Wing, 1st Fuso Fighter Division where she found herself amongst retired warheroes and aces who now flew promotional events over her homeland far away from combat.<br>
Feeling as though her chance to fight back against the Neuroi had now faded away with her new assignment, Amaterasu almost resigned to her fate until a surprise attack by long range Neuroi bombers heading for the Fuso capital resulted in the desperate dispatching of all available fighter wings and naval vessels from Libereon and Fuso for one of the largest air battles recorded over the Pacific Ocean, the Battle of Midway.<br>
The Neuroi had converted Midway Atoll into a small scale hive to begin attacks on the relatively untouched territories of Libereon and Fuso in an attempt to open up yet another front for the Allied forces to worry about. However thanks to the quick response and overwhelming numbers of the allied force Midway was recaptured in the space of six days. Amaterasu proved her capabilities in combat during the operation making Ace in a day during initial bomber interception and provided superior air support for Libereon naval vessels during the last day of the operation. Fuso could no longer ignore the fact that their poster child for the air force was just as valuable as a combat asset and set about trying to assign her to a mixed multinational combat force similar to the 501st Joint Fighter Wing. <br>
In the meantime Amaterasu was taken off assignment and was placed into Striker Unit development where she found herself working on the Kawanishi developed N1K Kyofu Striker Unit and wielding armaments specifically designed to support Witches in combat by focusing magic similar to familiars utilized by other witches.<br>
Amaterasu these days is a Lieutenant Junior Grade in the Fuso Naval Forces awaiting assignment to a new multi-national strike force. An avid practitioner of Shintoism she can be seen as somewhat zealous in her ideals. Despite all of her military training and experience in the field of war Amaterasu isn't the best of shots and prefers close combat when engaging Neuroi which compliments her magical capabilities, experience and flight style.<br>
Her primary magical ability is the capability to temporarily enhance kinetic energy in most forms. In combat this translates to incredibly hard punches,strikes and unusual air maneuvers.<br>

A typical Fuso woman with long black hair tied back with a red cord and somewhat intense brown eyes. She's garbed in what would be a normal Miko outfit if it weren't for required modifications, for example a shortened Hakama skirt and a sleeveless Miko Kimono. Amaterasu is almost always armed with her Type 26 Revolver held in a holster strapped to her lower thigh and her FWA Type-1 Fingerless Battle Gauntlets. Sometimes she may also be armed with her military issued sword or naginata but these pieces of equipment are often kept with her Striker Unit.
