===Mutes=== The primary spellcaster of the settlers of the Lost Colony of Banshee, Mutes are descendants of the Junkers. They're [[cyborg]]s outfitted with an implanted sachet of nanobots (which themselves are physical hosts for tech-spirits), a cybernetic eye that they use to "see" and control them, a data port to upload programming schematics to their nanobots, and the all-important HG Siphon, which lets the Mute tap into the Hunting Ground and draw upon raw arcane energy to power the nanobots. Their name comes from their power; they are the [[Transmuter]]s of the Deadlands universe, deploying nanobot swarms to break down raw materials - which can be anything from literal piles of unworked resources to just items you don't need - and restructure those materials on the molecular level to build whatever they want from the component material. So long as they have the correct schematics uploaded, that is - a Mute can't just will their nanobots to fix a broken gun if they don't have the schematics for what a gun should look like to tell the little bots the issue. They can also do a little grey goo scenario if they feel so inclined, using their nanobots to dissassemble inconvenient people in hand to hand combat. The downside is that the person who creates Mutes also sets up a backdoor into their brains, as she plans to ultimately use this to assemble an army of brainwashed cyborgs - oh, yes, we didn't mention that as the nanobots seize more mental control over their host, they also increasingly rebuild them into a cyborg?
