=Warhammer 40k= Dogs, like humans, have been spread across the galaxy after 40 thousands years of space travel and colonization. Honestly it's odd why Games Workshop hasn't given the Imperial Guard attack dogs they'd be perfect for harassing light infantry and directing Melee away from your firing lines, hell have them swarm Failabbadon and watch as the other player bangs his head on the wall. As cool as that would be sadly tabletop wise we have yet to have dogs units besides Fenrisian Wolves and those aren't even real wolves technically. The Adeptus Arbites have cyber mastiffs dogs who have been augmented so far that their essentially a dog's brain in a robotic body making them Robocop dog. The said cyber dog is also the royal companion of the Hired Gun in Necromunda: Hired Gun, which can be summoned in the midst of battle by squeaking its favorite squeaky toy. The Adeptus Mechanicus also have cybernetic hounds which are used as cyber familiars and guard dogs, so that's a thing. The Elucidian Starstriders rogue trader kill team has a dog. It's currently the only normal non-demon dog playable on the tabletop in 8th Edition. In the lore some Imperial Guard regiments have dogs now. (They probably outrank you.) Still no models or rules though, on the note of outranking the average guardsmen actually rains true in real life as well, they out rank common soldiers and their handlers, to prevent soldiers from abusing the dogs on the grounds of assulting a superior.
