==IRL== The Chaparral was the only truly mobile weapon of this class ever fielded by the US military. It was meant as a stop gap after the cancellation of MIM 46 Mauler SAM forcing the rush development of the Chaparral and M163 VADS to cover the gap. Compared to all its contemporary peers (including the FIM-92 Stinger) the Chaparral was hilariously crude, being little more than a mobile missile rack that relied entirely on the tracking and guidance systems of the Sidewinder missile. All units were removed from service in 1994 and the unit never saw combat service. A navalized version of the launcher turret was sold to Taiwanese navy. US Forces in Team Yankee Israeli Forces in Team Yankee
