===The OG X-Men=== The original X-Men team consisted of five teenagers (four boys, one girl) and their mentor. '''Professor Charles Xavier:''' Aka "Professor X". Genius, philanthropist, old-money type, and one of the most powerful telepaths on the planet. Spent his formative years seeking out other mutants before deciding that, since conflict between baselines and mutants was inevitable, there needed to be somebody speaking for mutant rights whilst also promoting peace between the two human subspecies. Was rendered a paraplegiac due to spinal injury. '''Scott Summers:''' Aka "Cyclops". One of Professor X's first students. When his family was on a vacation to Alaska, a routine flight in a small plane was interrupted by an alien spaceship that shot the plane down; Scott's parents pushed him and his brother to safety in the only remaining parachute and were then seemingly killed when the plane exploded - in reality, they were abducted by their alien attackers. Scott and his brother were put into an orphanage, and subsequently separated. Scott has the mutant power to project beams of crimson-hued force from his eyes, but he is unable to consciously control the power, causing him to blast whenever he looks at something. He uses a special ruby-red quartz crystal to diffuse the energy harmlessly. '''Jean Gray:''' Aka "Marvel Girl", aka "Phoenix". The only girl on the team. A powerful telepath and also a telekinetic. '''Hank McCoy:''' Aka "The Beast". Originally was a super-genius with heighted strength, agility and reflexes that came at the cost of ape-like physical proportions. An experimental chemical heightened all of his abilities, but also caused him to transform into a furry gray (later blue) [[Frazetta Man]], which subsequently mutated into a sort of [[catfolk]]. Originally one of the most liked members of the team, even managing to hold dual membership on the X-Men and the Avengers. Since the 2010s, has become an incredible douchebag. '''Warren Worthington III:''' AKA "Angel". A billionaire's heir with the power to fly, courtesy of large, white-feathered wings sprouting from his shoulders. In the 80s, was temporarily enslaved by Apocalypse, who tinkered with his genes and gave him a more monstrous alter-ego called "Archangel". '''Bobby Drake:''' AKA "Iceman". Fun-loving prankster with cryokinesis. Retconned in the 90s to be capable of transforming into living ice and snow. Was retconned as gay in the 2010s despite a decades-long history of being a 100% straight hornball who was constantly after the hot women in his life.
