Teens heores introduced in the 2000s. Giant Gods called the Gibborim gathered twelve villains to provide sacrifices for them, providing wealth and power in exchange and promising that six of them would be spared when they destroyed humanity. The six couples made a pact to give those spots to their children. Those children were not receptive to the idea of human sacrifices and the end of humanity, and so they, well, ran away.

Alex actually learned about the parents' secret earlier than the others, and manipulated events so the six survivor spots would go to himself, his crush Nico, and their parents. He was rejected for his actions, and then killed by the Gibborim.
*'''Nico Minoru:''' Daughter of mages. Nico can summon a magic staff called the Staff of One from her body by shedding blood. The staff can do basically anything, but the word for an associated spell can only be used once.

*'''Karolina Dean:''' Daughter of aliens called Majesdanian. Her biology lets her absorb solar energy, which makes her body glow, flight, and fire energy beams. Her body is so full of sunlight, a vampire died from drinking her blood.

While both her parents are telepaths, Molly instead has super-strength which uses her body's energy as fuel, leaving her tired after extenssive use. Her surname was changed to Hernandez in the show.
