==Notable Members== *Mortarion: Primarch of the Death Guard, the Pale King, and runner-up for Galaxy's Saltiest Man behind Perturabo. Hated psykers due to being raised by an abusive alien sorcerer on a planet full of asshole alien psykers. Had massive daddy issues from the day the Emperor found him, and ultimately decided he was going to make that everyone else's problem. Might have been planning to stab Horus in the back after the Heresy was over, but then Calas Typhon stranded his fleet in the warp and introduced him to Papa Nurgle. Got shit done at the Siege of Terra until Jaghatai banished him back to the Warp. Spent most of the next ten thousand years dicking around and hating himself for having become a creature of the Warp until 8th edition rolled around and he got off his pustule-ridden butt and got to work. Actually managed to kill Guilliman with the Godblight virus, until the Emperor pulled epic hax and possessed Rowboat, using him to defeat Mortarion. *Typhus: Formerly Calas Typhon, First Captain of the Death Guard, and dirty Nurgle burglar. He was one of Mortarion's first friends and recruits for the original Death Guard, which required him to suppress his psychic abilities since Morty didn't want anything to do with psykers. Turned to Nurgle's service some time prior to the Heresy thanks to Erebus, and began quietly manipulating Mortarion from behind the scenes to bring him on side. He helped turn the XIV Legion to Nurgle's service by stranding them in the Warp and became host to the Destroyer Hive, evolving into Typhus the Traveller, Herald of Nurgle. Has since become one of Papa N's greatest champions, wreaking havoc across the galaxy for the next ten millennia. *Ignatius Grulgor: Dickhead captain of the 2nd Company who became the very first Plague Marine after getting killed by a virus bomb on the Eisenstein while fighting Nathaniel Garro. He went on to become a daemon prince. *Nathaniel Garro: Battle-captain of the Death Guard's 7th Company and Imperial loyalist. Was slated for death at Istvaan III, but escaped and was able to warn the Imperium of Horus' treachery. He converted to the worship of the Emperor thanks to Euphrati Keeler, after which Malcador recruited him as the first of his Knights-Errant. Accidentally set off the powder keg at Caliban and was on Calth during the battle there. During the Siege of Terra, he led a kill team at the Saturnine Wall and killed Falkus Kibre of the Justaerin, then later died fighting his asshole dad while protecting Euphrati Keeler. This earned him the distinction of becoming the first martyr of the Imperial Cult. *Crysos Morturg: Dead 'ard son of a bitch. Got shunted into the Destroyers after his psychic abilities manifested, but he just shrugged and went right on doing his job. Died on Istvaan III, but was rebuilt by a Mechanicum magos into a mass of scars, augmetics, and bloody-mindedness. Built up a warband of blackshields, survivors of the Drop Site Massacre, and other Marines knocked loose from their legions and went hunting traitors behind enemy lines before finally returning to Terra. Became captain of the 108th Independent Company after the Heresy, which may have evolved into the Marines Malevolent. *Thagus Daravek: Death Guard sorcerer who was Abaddon's chief rival for the position of Warmaster during the Legion Wars. Got pwned by Iskandar Khayon and crucified above the oculus of the Vengeful Spirit. *Necrosius the Undying: Former Apothecary who dedicated himself to sorcery after his job became redundant and collected a warband of followers known as the Apostles of Contagion. Joined the party on Vraks and greatly pleased Papa Nurgle by setting off a bunch of chemical bombs and killing just a ton of Kriegers.
