=== Basic Information. === These are the final years of 43k. Matters aren't going too badly for Mankind; recently, the Imperium had even discovered an STC collection allowing them to build ships ten times as fast (century long times don't work well in the quest). However, some do whisper of upcoming problems, pointing out <s>glitches and flickers in the Astronomican's light</s> BLAM Heresy! Fortunately, you are a pious servant of the Emperor, and would never once absolutely consider such blasphemy. You play as Frederick Rotbart, an Administratum Adept who was promoted into the Planetary Governor of a remote Agri-World. Of course, as usual for the Imperium, someone screws things up. The Agri-World gets Frederick Rutbart, a distinguished combat general, while you are sent to the freshly colonized planet he was supposed to run. A pet project of an Inquisitor who wanted the most elite troops in the galaxy (to fight on Daemon Worlds). You can probably guess how one gets that. That's right. You are supposed to run the most brutal Death World in the known Galaxy. Teleporting spiders with venom that kills an Astartes in a second. Enormous laser-spitting kaijus. Herds of migrating beasts that can trample a tank regiment. Giant worms burrowing underground and capable of popping out of every wall. Trees bearing dragons instead of apples. Seas full of mind-controlling, soul-eating mermaids (looking suspiciously mer-Eldarlike) and island-sized turtles... Oh, and did I mention they've picked the safest spot on the planet to settle? Welcome to Avernus, the Hellworld.
