It is assumed, though unverified, that the Storm Claws are successors of the Blood Angels. The most telling clue is the comparable flaws in the Geneseed of the chapter. There has also been an usually large number of black carapace rejections, leading to only a fraction of hopefuls actually becoming Astartes. There is hope in the form of the Ultima founding, which might repair their tattered gene stock, though many of the veterans of the chapter are wary of the Primaris marines and what might become of their chapter in the future. The Storm Claws do not formally recognize a Primarch and instead devote themselves wholeheartedly to the Emperoror alone.
