* The first recorded workers strike in history we have documented evidence for was in Egypt. Basically a lot of workers were building a temple and ran out of eye makeup and the temple priests wouldn't get the workers more so the workers refused to continue building until the temple got a supply from elsewhere sometime later and doled it out to the workers. Why eye makeup? Because it helped keep the glare of the sun bouncing off the sand and stone and basically blinding you. Yeah, that weird eye makeup you see in Egyptian art wasn't just for show!
