== Fun Facts and Moronic Misconceptions about Egypt == * The Pharaoh would fap and ejaculate into the Nile every year in a ceremony meant to give the river fertility and power. * The Egyptians were influenced by the Sumerian and Babylonian civilizations to the east, especially with their pyramids (likely derived from Ziggurats). * We have some records of everyday chatting of ancient egyptians recorded by a noble for his tomb like "If you will go to the nile, beware the crocodiles that lurk in the reeds!" and the like. * The longest text in Etruscan that we have - the "Linen Book of Zagreb" was recorded on mummy's wraps found in Alexandria. * Egyptians developed such tech as water-clocks and glassworks. * Neither the Egyptians nor the Hyksos developed the chariot which was imported from the Eurasian steppes millennia later. * The first diplomatic note in history originated in Egypt with the "Amarna Letters" which elaborated communications system, diplomatic protocol, and diplomatic envoys. * The first recorded workers strike in history we have documented evidence for was in Egypt. Basically a lot of workers were building a temple and ran out of eye makeup and the temple priests wouldn't get the workers more so the workers refused to continue building until the temple got a supply from elsewhere sometime later and doled it out to the workers. Why eye makeup? Because it helped keep the glare of the sun bouncing off the sand and stone and basically blinding you. Yeah, that weird eye makeup you see in Egyptian art wasn't just for show! * The first recorded stories of depression and suicide come from Egypt (and Babylon). * Despite being an authoritarian theocracy, Egypt was still arguably the best place to live in the world during most of it's history due to geography guaranteeing peace, gentle climate and a comparatively high development level, only later surpassed by Minoan civilization on Crete.
