==In Real Life== [[image:Combat_Engineers_Soviet.JPG|thumb|300px|right|Soviet Combat Engineers]] Unusually for WWII infantry, Combat Engineers wore [[Armor|Body Armor]]. Several models of these so-called "Steel Bibs" were made of a few stamped steel plates about 1.8-to 2.7mm thick worn over the front torso. On the one hand, this armor was resistant to shrapnel and could even stop pistol bullets, like the Parabellum that MP-40s spat and was cheap and easy to stamp out. On the other hand, it was useless against rifle shots, was challenging to crawl in and it weighed 3.5kg, not unbearable but still a noticeable addition, especially for men on the march. Some Soviet troops were glad for the extra protection, others found them more trouble than they were worth. In the thick urban combat of Stalingrad and later Berlin, these vests were highly valuable, as they protected from flying concrete shrapnel and heavy grenade usage. {{Soviet Forces in Flames of War}}
