==Axial Tilt== The degree by which a planet leans to the side on its axis determines how severe its seasonal variations are. A planet with no axial tilt experiences no change of seasons, with a greater tilt causing greater variation in seasonal conditions. Thus, it gets hotter in the summer, and colder in the winter. The northern hemisphere will experience summer while the southern has its winter, and vice versa. For the table below, the planet's temperature is modified for its summer and winter, but stays as given for its autumn and spring. The rolled modifier is applied to both the maximum and minimum temperatures given, so, for instance, ±10°C to a 30°C world, with a 50°C equator would result in a seasonal range of 20°C to 40°C, with 40°C to 60°C equatorial temperatures. The seasonal modifier may move the temperature into another bracket on the temperature table. When this happens, the affects of the new bracket take effect. For reference, Earth's axial tilt is 23.4 degrees. {| border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5" align="center" ! colspan="3" |Tilt |- ! style="font-weight:bold;" | d100 ! style="font-weight:bold;" | Axial Tilt ! style="font-weight:bold;" | Seasonal Variation |- | style="font-weight:bold;" | 01-05 | None | None |- | style="font-weight:bold;" | 06-15 | Slight (1-5°) | ± 5°C/41°F |- | style="font-weight:bold;" | 16-30 | Notable (6-15°) | ± 10°C/50°F |- | style="font-weight:bold;" | 31-70 | Moderate (16-25°) | ± 20°C/68°F |- | style="font-weight:bold;" | 71-85 | Large (26-35°) | ± 40°C/104°F |- | style="font-weight:bold;" | 86-95 | Severe (36-45°) | ± 60°C/140°F |- | style="font-weight:bold;" | 96-100 | Extreme (46°+) | ± 80°C/176°F |}
