This cheeky, irreverent demigoddess appears as a huge female Brass Dragon, and serves as the Messenger of Io, which also acts as her title. Relishing in the disturbing of the status quo, and delighting in learning through play, invention and pleasure, Aasterinian is an unpredictable deity. She assigns tasks to her worshippers on a whim, almost always involving travel or undergoing new experiences; in her viewpoint, the journey is more important than the destination. She encourages her followers to think for themselves, and relying on the opinions or words of others is one of her few sins. Needless to say, she requires little in the way of formal rites; every time a worshipper learns or creates something new, she is honoring Aasterinian. Likewise, her prayers tend to be quick expressions of the desire for change, with the most iconic daily prayer being "let today differ from both yesterday and tomorrow", whilst she prefers small, quiet, hidden shrines rather than grand, formal temples. Aasterinian is no racist; she happily accepts the worship of anyone who can share in her love of innovation and whimsy, although she does feel a particular fondness for dragonblood races, as you'd expect. Her clerics tend to be draconics, Half-Dragons, or Spellscales, and it is that last race that is often said to be the focus of her attention. The Herald of Aasterinian upon the Prime Material is an ancient brass dragon, distinguished by its distinctively colored forehead; turquoise-sheened, save for the golden star at its center. Her allies are any dragon or dragonblood creature of chaotic or neutral alignment. Her church gets on best with the churchs of other "friendly trickster" type deities, such as Garl Glittergold, Fharlanghn, and Olidammara. In 5th edition, she's no longer a deity but a Greatwyrm, an exceptionally powerful dragon that exists on multiple parallel realities simultaneously. Her messaging ability stems from her heightened dragonsight, allowing all her copies across the multiverse to be on the same page with uncanny accuracy, even by greatwyrm standards.
