The little brother of the [[Goliath Truck]], the Achilles Ridgerunner is a type of Imperial vehicle that is traditionally employed by mining guilds, construction workers, and geological surveyors. In this capacity it performs as an exploration vehicle, and because it is so sturdy and ubiquitous it is often used by renegades such as [[Genestealer Cult|Genestealer Cults.]] It's basically 40k's equivalent of the Toyota Tacoma/Hilux used by terrorists IRL. With more guns on it.

==Overview==

Ridgerunners will range into hazardous frontier environments in order to scan for promising resource deposits and communicate their location back to base. Though the Ridgerunner is not specifically designed for military use, Genestealer Cults can convert these rugged vehicles into remarkably effective outriders and scout vehicles. Because it is basically an industrial exploration and mining vehicle it is ruggedly built to deal with harsh environments and geological disturbances.

In a Cult's hands the Ridgerunner's heavy mining laser, which is normally used to unearth rich seams of valuable minerals and rare metals, can be used as highly effective weapons that can sear through the armoured hulls of vehicles. If need be though, the [[Mining Laser|mining laser]] can be switched out for a [[Missile Launcher|missile launcher]] or even a [[Heavy Mortar|heavy mortar]]. The Ridgerunner also features two [[Heavy Stubber|heavy stubber]]s in the front of the vehicle that are ostensibly meant to fend off wildlife, raiders, and xenos.

For all intents and purposes, it is a Genestealer [[Tauros]].
