Apollo is the Greek god of sunlight, healing, archery, knowledge, music, art, and a million other things the Greeks thought were nice. Arguably one of the most important gods outside of the big three, he is the son of Zeus and Leto, as well as the twin brother of Artemis. He is often portrayed in media as happy, care free, and loving, but with a penchant for murder when push comes to shove- though that's true of most of the Greek pantheon. Apollo as a chaotic deity is actually an odd choice, since he was frequently shown as the opposite of and in a brotherly rivalry with Dionysus, who was very much chaotic and is best remembered as god of drunken debauchery. This mythical rivalry has given way to the English adjectives "Apollonian" and "Dionysian". Apollo is also the god of oracles, which is invariably going to be important for any GM trying to push his intrepid Adventurer's down a certain path. Apollo is typically considered to be chaotic good, and will generally not try to screw people over unless they're being a dick. Given his aforementioned chaotic goodness and his penchant for healing, Apollo makes an excellent god for Clerics, as well as a strong pick for Paladins if they can get away with him being chaotic. <gallery> File:Apollo.jpg|Did we mention he's hot? Cuz he's hot. <s>He's nothing compared to Hephaestus or Hestia though.</s> File:Apollo p106.jpg|His depiction in Deities & Demigods. </gallery>
