The BO-105 PAH-1 was procured by the German Army to fill the anti-tank helicopter role, though military commanders found it to be lackluster compared to a purpose-built attack helicopter like the [[AH-1 Cobra Attack Helicopter]] due to its limited defenses. It was replaced by the [[wikipedia:Eurocopter Tiger|Eurocopter Tiger]], though it continued to be used for observation and airlifting duties until 2016.
