The '''Black Guard''' are a rare [[second founding]] successor of the [[Raven Guard]] Chapter. They have a sweet colour scheme (that looks similar to the white scars) and a tendency to rely on bombing the complete ever-living fuck out of anything stupid enough to declare itself an enemy, because half measures are no measures at all, and who needs an ambush if the enemy is already gone? Like many successor Chapters their history has been <strike>nuked to shit</strike> lost to the passages of time and buried in the annals of forgotten history, such is life.

They were formed from the Shadow Wardens, which served as Corax's personal bodyguard during the [[Horus Heresy]]. As you can imagine they took quite a beating during the Drop Site Massacre and their commander (later Chapter Master) Gherith Arendi was said to have survived only by using other legionnaires as a distraction in order to steal a shuttle and escape. Dick move. (Although this might explain where pounding sticks of dynamite into peoples asses rubbed off on them.) In the 41st millenium, they were last seen in the very opening phases of the [[Charadon]] invasion, repealing multiple [[Death Guard]] vectoriums in the world of Dryoch's Reach. Although given the amount of forces [[Typhus]] brought to bear against the Forge World of Metallica, they only managed to delay the inevitable.

The only other thing really known about them is the reconfirmation of the deterioration of their geneseed, requiring resupply of purer stocks from Terra (have they not built up their own stocks by 10 thousand years? The gene seed repository may have been attacked since they apparently did deliver the tithe enough to build a reserve there).

Plus they had a Master of the Forge called Germanius. So they have a possibility for pimping names.

Besides that, ambushes with overwhelming firepower? Fuck yeah! Count me in!
