Much of the British utility motor pool during WW2 was supplied by Bedford and their trucks, especially the [[Wikipedia:Bedford OY|Bedford OY]] and the [[Wikipedia:Bedford QL|Bedford QL]]. Many other companies contributed, including Austin, Ford, Leyland, and Mack. Much of the British Utility inventory was lost at the evacuation of Dunkirk but was able to recover to a certain extent with lend-lease.
