Editing Covenant Hand-Held Weapons

Like many species in the 41st millennium the Covenant makes extensive use of Melee weapons. Unlike many other species the use of a dedicated Melee weapon in the Covenant is quite rare as the use of these is considered a great honor for the wielder.

==Type-1 Energy Sword==
The Type-1 Energy Weapon/Sword consists of a curved hilt, housing an energy storage module and a device for projecting the plasma which forms the blade. The actual blade is composed of two partially ionized 'blades' of free moving electron based gas held in a blade-like form by two small magnetic-field generators built into the handle of the weapon. They are built with a failsafe that - should the wielder die - deactivates the magnetic field holding the plasma in place before dispersing the energy, destroying the sword. The failsafe is included to prevent enemy infantry from acquiring the weapon and using it.

==Type-2 Gravity Hammer==
The Type-2 Gravity Hammer is analogous to the Sangheili Energy Sword in that it is only allowed to be used by the highest ranking Brutes, usually of the Chieftain rank and occasionally Captains.  A field generator, which is located in the head, emits a kinetic pulse whenever the head strikes a solid object. This weapon can also be used to manipulate gravity, allowing it to push opponents away or pull them towards the wielder, as well as deflecting incoming projectiles. Should the weapon run out of power there is an axe head on the other side so that the wielder will still remain armed.

==Energy Garrote==
The Energy garrote is a weapon comprising of a small two-piece cylinder that splits apart in the middle, revealing a center of focused plasma. The plasma is not powerful enough to cut through flesh, but can choke and burn an enemy from behind, resulting in a quick, silent kill. It is used mostly by Special Ops Elites.

==Honor Pike==
Of an even greater position of honor than the use of the Energy Sword and Gravity Hammer is the right to use the Honor Pike in battle. These weapons are long staves with a spear-like end that is similar in color to the "glowing armor panels" of their wielders. The Honour Guard that wield them have displayed impressive skill in it's use and have been known to always deal a fatal blow to whoever they strike such as through the eye piece of an Astartes power armor. Unlike the more common Energy Sword the whole weapon is constructed like a Power Spear of the imperium, a solid spear with the tip wreathed in energy.
