for the singular of Dice, you know what to do. DIE started out as a fictional RPG in Kieron Gillen's /co/mic in the grimdark spirit of Fellspyre Chronicles aka The Last God. Gillen has been planning an actual RPG for this. In that light (or not) we're devoting a page for it. Although it looks retardedly broken as currently proposed. You can't buy DIE yet... precisely. Where Philip Kennedy Johnson had based his work on Dungeons & Dragons - so is playable - Gillen is planning his own RPG, not yet playable. There do exist barebones rules here. Version 1.46 as of August 2021. Despite its beta-status the PDFs are free (for now). In the PDF, we read about Neo the cybernetic goldfinger;Dictator the superpowered bard (whut); Fool who works by luck so, the Rogue or Swashbuckler; Godbinder sort-of a Cleric but (even) more annoying to his/her god (the PDF actually says - demonologist); and Emotion Knight. And there's the Master. Who is... the GM. Yes the GM can actually play in this game as a PC; he does magic here. As to how this works vis-a-vis your dudes: checks-and-balances come in the form of cheat cards, where if s/he bends the rules at least there's a mechanic for that. The Master owns the d20; other player characters get the letter dice. Hence the game's title! There's an emotion-score taken from, we guess, Call of Cthulhu. Somewhere around here are the Fallen who are sentient undead. Think: the Fell in Midnight - you keep playing, hoping to lift your curse.
