Death-Maidens are Necromundan Zombies. Yeah, we are not sure exactly what type of hijinks House Escher has been experimenting upon to create literal necromancy, but suffice to say, some radical members of /tg/ may theorise this to have some Nurgle or Dark Eldar influence behind their creation. According to Escher itself and the fluff, these dead House Escher's gang-members have been resurrected by the House's alchymyst fleshteks and turned into Escher's assassins, fixers and enforcers. ==Overview== Only sisters whose deeds have drawn the eyes of the fleshteks are chosen to become Death-Maidens and have their bodies recovered and placed within amniotic tanks. From there, their blood is turned toxic by a transfusion of chems and the Death-maidens' minds are stripped of whatever shreds of humanity they once had. Now how exactly, that a bunch of drugs can magically will someone back to life, one can only guess: amniotic tank implies some sort of rebirth procedure like stem cell regrowth, but it doesn't explain why their blood is fucking poison or why their personalities are stripped away, so the theories of warp fuckery being involved is not that far fetched. Once they are reborn, the Death-Maidens are ordered to impose the will of House Escher in the Underhive and usually work alone, unless tasked with joining Escher gangs to enforce the interests of the House. Though it is not unheard of for entire gangs of Death-Maidens to gather, when House Escher's matriarch council calls. Again, this is some serious heretical shit going on under the radar. Each Death-Maiden is armed with a Needle Pistol and a Venom Claw, although they can also arm themselves with Chainswords, Plasma Pistols, Power Swords and a Power Knife. They also come standard with a bunch of Frags, Kraks and Choke Gas Grenades. On a sidenote, they also wear the most impractical and silly-looking heels in 40k. Even by Escher standards, one must wonder how anyone whether dead or alive, can walk, let alone run on these things. Seriously, look at it. They are literally balancing their heel on a edge pointier than a needle. Those poor, poor ankles. ==Crunch== On Necromunda, these undead rejects are god damn murder blenders. They might only get access to pistols, grenades and melee weapons, but their melee stats are ridiculous (WS 2+ and 3 attacks), and they come with Toughness 4. Their best use is counter-charging and as an enemy fighter elimination missile. Their skill choices include the fancy new Finesse skills, and can get a ton of mileage out of that extremely good skill set. House Escher
