Diinkarazan is one of the two racial patron gods of the Derro in Dungeons & Dragons, alongside his brother, Diirinka. He is sometimes considered to be a member of the Morndinsamman, the Dwarf pantheon, but an outcast member; this varies between sources. This minor deity was only detailed in the sourcebooks "Monster Mythology" for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and "On Hallowed Ground" for Planescape. The twin brothers are said to have been ambitious lower members of the Morndinsamman who sought to increase their power by creating a new dwarven subrace to worship them exclusively, a breed of dwarf imbued with great dexterity and a talent for arcane magic - these being talents unclaimed by their relatives. To this end, they sought a means to magically transform mortal dwarves into their intended new image, and ultimately found this in the form of a great storehouse of artifacts hidden in the Underdark. Only problem was that these artifacts belonged to the illithid god, Ilsensine... more importantly, he caught them as they attempted to flee from his stash with as much loot as they could carry. Diinkarazan's twin betrayed him, leaving him to the wrath of the illithid god and absconding with his share of the loot. The furious Ilsensine imprisoned the derro demigod on the 586th layer of the Abyss, which took the form of a rocky stone throne caught in the eye of an eternal storm of winds, gas and rocky debris that swirled around him in an endless vortex. He cursed Diinkarazan to be both incapable of leaving his throne and to be afflicted by endless illusions of being victimized his worst fears so long as he sat upon it. After decreeing that only a greater deity could undo this curse, he left Diinkarazan to rot, but not without leaving him aware of his brother's claiming the derro as his own personal race. For added cruelty, once every roughly 50 years (with a random variation of 1d10 years), Diinkarazan is gifted a single day of lucidity, and the power to project his avatar. Too crazed with vengeance to think about seeking aid from one of the deities that could free him, such as his own father Moradin, Diinkarazan instead wastes this precious time by sending his avatar to the Prime Material to rampage through the Underdark, destroying derro (and anything else that gets in his way) until it is destroyed in turn. Diinkarazan's avatar appears just like Diinkarazan himself; a tall, gaunt derro with a perpetual mad stare and whose eyes consist of glowing red orbs with black pupils, with hair that either streams out behind him and continuously changes color, texture and appearance. Wind swirls around him ceaselessly, varying in its direction and intensity. His avatar has the combined powers of an 18th level Wild Mage and a 14th level Thief.
