The False-Men of Nomen Ryne are mechanical creations made by the arch-heretek Nomen Ryne

History
The origins of these forbidden items of technology are traced Nomen Ryne who was originally a Levelist that a tech-focused form of equality which had been suppressed. His teachings claimed that the God-Emperor had given them technology in an effort to shield themselves from the darkness and that His desire was for all Men to be equal. As such, he declared the Adeptus Mechanicus to be slavemasters and sought to spread tech-knowledge to all which culminated in the fourth century of M41 when he issued his Precepts Mechanicus. Several years later, he disappeared and was declared a heretek with the Cult of Sollex who were tasked with hunting him down in the Malfia and Golgenna regions of the Calixis Sector. At some point by the 9th century, a heretical cult formed around him known as the Children of Ryne who worshipped him as an Imperial Saint. By that point, the false-men had been created and the Children of Ryne believed that they delivered messages as well as new tech-patterns from Nomen Ryne himself. It was through the investigation of these cults that the Mechanicus and the Holy Inquisition uncovered the existence of the false-men with some of their kind being dismantled. Furthermore, it has been discovered that a number of false Machine Temples populated by the false-men exist within the Malfian subsector. Since their discovery, both the Cult of Sollex and the Ordos Calixis have been determined in eradicating these machines without caring to uncover any of the deeper mysteries surrounding their existence.

Overview

False-men are built to masquerade themselves as heavily augmented Tech-Priests that incorporate all the traditional Mechanicus cybernetic modifications or, at the very least, the appearance of them. These constructs are capable of volition, speech and even planning which has led to them being cast as Silica Animus along with an attempt to bring back the dreaded Men of Iron of the Dark Age of Technology. However, these machines are in fact manikins compared to the true Men of Iron with their speeches being disjointed and irrelevant to the point that it seemed as if they were mad or mind-rusted. Their reactions to circumstances is similarly strange as they can act unexpectedly, illogical, violent and strange. In addition, their movements tend to be distinctively off-key and inhuman that highlighted a machine pretending to be a man. Despite these shortcomings, the false-men are able to craft tech-devices, make plans ahead, and perform the functions of a fabricator tech-adept. Some of the false-men are known to claim to be their creator, Nomen Ryne, himself though its believed that insanity and a strange form of ascension to life eternal in the embrace of the machine lies behind th centuries of heresy surrounding these constructs.
