whfb-stub NeedsImages Albion is full of giants. This is one of the few things we know about the Warhmmer Fantasy version of Britain. But even amongst Warhammer giants, there are varying levels of size, strength, and sheer stupidity. The Dogs of War known simply as The Giants of Albion consist of the two mightiest giants to come out of that dark, misty, rainy land; the mighty Cachtorr and his twin brother, Bologs. Largest and strongest of all Albion's giants, Bologs in particular is so huge and mighty that he is revered as a demigod amongst the tribes of Albion... which is impressive, considering he's so dumb that the only thing he can say is "Bologs". For hundreds of years, the brother giants lived on Albion, and achieved very little, save for Cachtorr's centuries-long boulder-throwing feud with the mated giants Dong and Mea-Dong, an homage to the legend of the Giant's Causeway. Then came the invasion of the Reman general, Curious Geasar (you can tell this is from older Warhammer lore, can't you?) - long story short, though Geasar's initial invasion was stymied by the assembled might of the Albion clans, their giant alllies, the pounding rain and the sheer wimpiness of his mercenaries, he managed to do enough damage that the Albions were willing to meet his demands if he'd agree to just bugger off. They were less than thrilled when he demanded he be allowed to take Bologs and Cachtorr as trophies, but, afraid he may have reinforcements on the way, they agreed. A Truthsayer named Hengus, now known as Hengus the Druid, went along to keep the giants docile. And then Curious Geasar was assassinated immediately upon his arrival back in Remas. Geasar's forces immediately panicked and fled for their lives, but not before one of them freed the giants out of sheer spite. Confused and more than a little pissed off, and relly can you blame them, the giants promptly smashed their way through the city and fled into the wilderness. Ever since then, they've been stomping around the Old World, trying to find a way to get back to Albion. Patiently shepherded around by Hengus, who is definitely the brains of the trio, they hire themselves out to mercenary bands in hopes of being brought closer to the coast and from there back to their homeland. ==On the Tabletop== whfb-stub The Giants of Albion have been around a long time; they appeared in White Dwarf of May 1999, which was #41 in the Germany region, and were updated in White Dwarf #233 (UK printing) before making it into the Warhammer Chronicles 2004 for 6th edition. ==Gallery== <gallery> </gallery>
